The first floor of the Cathedral of Learning on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh is spectacular! Gothic architecture! It's a refreshing stop on a hot summer day since it has to be about 20 degrees cooler inside! But if you are in town during the winter holidays, you have to make time to see the Nationality Rooms. Each one is dedicated to a specific nationality of people who make up the Pittsburgh culture, such as Italian, German, Polish, etc. Each room reflects how a classroom would look in that particular country. During the holidays, each room is adorned with holiday decorations which reflect that country as well. Interestingly, Pitt students have classes in these classrooms. Worth while seeing if you can.
