“Great food, but average meal.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We went for a birthday dinner expecting great things. We knew it was very pricey and it did not disappoint on that respect. However the meal was just average. We had above average service and the whole staff was exceedingly friendly. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waiter. The bread basket was above average. The calamari appetizer was very good. My steak au poivre was just average. A good sauce and nice presentation, but the meat was just okay. At 46 dollars I expected more. The sautéed spinach was an oily mess. My wife's chopped salad was unappealing and just lettuce and other greens.
I can name two other restaurants that offer better value---Meat and Potatoes and Cafe Monaco in Oakmont, and they offer better meals.

“Cannot compare this food to anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

The most delicious meal I had for my birthday last night. We feasted on lobster and crab cakes, new england clam chowder, french onion soup, sea bass, asparagus, spinach……I cannot rave enough of how great the taste, quality and freshness every ingredient.

Had drinks at the bar first and what a great ambiance and feel to the place. Great for just drinks and an appetizer. Great crowd!!

“Thank goodness we had a gift card!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

Friend had bad ankle and called to say we may be a couple minutes late since show ran late and that we would get there as soon as possible. Gal that answered phone was rude. Atmosphere little too dimly lit for me. Good bread basket. Petite filet that was supposed to be medium well had no pink inside, was burnt around sides and smelled like some sort of accelerant or fuel. Friend sent hers back, got another which was better. Very kind waitress offered free extra side of potatoes that were nothing out of the ordinary. Also offered free dessert which was highlight of meal. Delicious coconut cream pie in a tart shell. Restaurant tried their best to make the meal better.

“Good food and atmosphere but a little pricey!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

Great atmosphere, good service and food but more of a treat than a every day visit. Fully enjoyed it but unless your on a expense account this restaurant is not something one could afford on a regular.

“Great meal with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

We went to the Capital Grille for Restaurant Week 2014 in Pittsburgh, and had an exquisite evening. The selections were outstanding at a very reasonable price. All 3 courses were well prepared and delicious. The steaks were cook exactly to order. The service was excellent (always there when needed, but not hovering). We had a perfect table off the main room where we could enjoy a delightful evening talking with friends, and not have to talk over the music or other tables. Great food, great service, and a great time.
