“Great getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I took my daughter here for a winter birthday getaway. We had a beautiful room, an evening cocktail at their small bar, an after dinner swim in the indoor pool, and a wonderful breakfast with their large selection. A great value.

Very large suite with two double beds and pull out. Great for families. Close to interstate. Excellent breakfast selection included with stay. Fast wifi and new flat panel Tv with great channel selection. No brainer to return here when in Pittsburgh.

The hotel was great, we had a beautiful Guestroom 1 king. The room had everything other than a microwave which would have been nice. The View wasn’t the best as it was the back of the plaza and a factory. We had gone to the front desk to ask for extra pillows, the front desk girl was a little rude. We ordered room service at night and it came up very fast and all correct. The breakfast was great they had a huge assortment of stuff.

As with other Hyatt Places, I have stayed in, the hotel is in good condition. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms are well laid out and larger than the average hotel room. The room layout has a nice flow, and isn't the normal 'Superior Room Formula' that other hotels have adopted.

Bed was very comfortable. No complaints at all about the hotel itself.

Ony issue I had was with the description, it is called 'Hyatt Place - Pittsburgh/ Airport'. As such I assumed it would be at the airport. In fact when I called to book, they confirmed it was at the airport and there was a regular shuttle to the airport. Well there was in fact a shuttle, however the hotel itself was 9 miles from the airport.

My suggestions drop the 'Airport' from the name. It is a good hotel, there s nothing wrong with the location (just the description of it) people will come and stay and most likely return on future trips. But when you have to drive 9 miles from the airport to get to the airport hotel, you tend to feel a bit cheated or lied to.

Stayed here with husband, daughter and son for two nights. We had a suite, very nice. Rooms were spacious, two beds in each room plus pull out sofas. We could have slept 12 people in there and all for a great rate. Rooms were clean, plenty of towels,.big screen tv, many pillows, fridge, hair dryer, and place to set up and/or charge all your electronic equipment. There is also free computer access downstairs where you can plrint out your plane tickets, nice touch. The food was okay, fair to middlin'. Lots of juices, choices of cereals, fruits, muffins, bagels, and items like that were fresh and good, the cooked food was a little on the tough side and very crunchy, a little too much as I don't usually eat crunchy pancakes. The hotel is very convenient to many different places to eat and also to stores that you can walk to. All in all, was a pleasant stay and would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Our room was super spacious with a sofa bed and 2 double beds. This room also has a nice 42" HD tv, workstation and a mini fridge. The bathroom was very clean with a nice shower head. The beds were very comfy. The breakfast was also very nice. They have a nice selection of cereal and pastries, bagels and juices. They also serve a hot ham and egg sandwich which is tasty. The indoor pool was nice and the staff was very friendly. Overall we had a very nice stay. Well worth the $89/night

I was about to book a room here through Hotels.com because of the availability of the indoor pool for my two young children and the fact that the hotel allows pets. Thank goodness I called the hotel before actually booking. The pet fee is $150 per stay. Every other pet-friendly hotel in the area is $50 per stay including the DoubleTree in Green Tree and the Airport Marriott. The website lists this fee as a deposit, so without calling the hotel to inquire, we would have almost doubled the cost of our stay.
