“Most Extreme Flavor Thrill Ride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

This place has THE most intriguing flavors of ice cream I have ever imagined. Think about it... three, yes... THREE different flavors of vanilla! Each one is a different type of vanilla bean, and each one with their own distinct flavor. And the uniqueness doesn't end there... I've tried their Amaretto Fudge Swirl and their Rosewater Cardamom flavor as well... each one memorable and flavorful. But, by far the most exciting flavor is their Chocolate Jalapeno... a true ice cream "experience". Bar none, that flavor is a true thrill ride. First, a deep, resonant chocolate flavor that just satisfies every need for chocolate bliss. Then, as the chocolate fades away... the INTENSITY of the Jalapeno kicks you! Not the "green pepper" flavor, but the heat! OH MY!!! What a wild, unexpected JOLT! If you are into trying heat in unexpected places, try the Chocolate Jalapeno! You won't EVER forget it....

“oWOWCow = mMMMMmm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

I thoroughly enjoy the all natural, organic, local ingredients that make up oWOWCow ice cream! The portions are sae size, if not bigger than the other local ice cram shops. The price is comparable too. I don't mind spending money on REALLY GOOD, REALLY HOMEMADE, ice cream that is makde with fresh ingredients and not powdered mixes. That makes a huge difference in the texture and flavor of the ice cream. It melts in your mouth yet doesn't leave an aftertaste and is very satisfying to the palate. I don't get all thirsty from this ice cream. There are many unique flavors from which you can choose. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. You are permitted to sample as many flavors as you are interested in tasting. oWOWCow Ice Cream is worth the trip, the money and the calories :)

“Ruined all other ice cream for me”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I've enjoyed a lot of Ice Cream in my life, but nothing even comes close to this.

The atmosphere is like a coffee bar with the flavors written on a chalk board with an artistic flair.
There selection is nontraditional, so I went with the 5 for $5.55 sampler (which should be called a flight). They source their ingredients locally as much as possible, and really seem to view ice cream, like good coffee or beer, as a craft.

Strawberry, Blood Orange Raspberry, Caramel Cashew, Lemon Ginger, and Grapefruit with Chocolate Covered Lemon Peel made my cut, but I got to sample the Indonesian Vanilla, I Hate Chocolate, and Espresso Bean from my friends. I can not express strongly enough how amazing these all were.

I'll give a flavor by flavor review of the rest below, but Strawberry is my go to favorite, and it makes a great baseline for trying a new shop. oWowCow sets a new bar. Its creamy, smooth, sweet, and tastes like a handful of sweet, fresh picked strawberries.

I live 500 miles from oWowCow; I was visiting friends that insisted we drive 30 minutes to go and I can't thank them enough. I will never go anywhere near Eastern Pennsylvania again with out going to oWowCow, and I'll probably bring a cooler and some dry ice next time so I can bring it home with me.

Flavors

Blood Orange Raspberry was sweet and mildly citrus, like a blood orange.

Lemon Ginger is just the right blend of sour and sweet, with a good dose of spicy ginger perfectly distributed throughout the scoop.

Caramel Cashew is a great blend of sweet and rich. Crunchy cashews, sweet caramel, and of course the wonderful cream. I'd say this was a safe flavor, not to over the top, but still fantastic.

Grapefruit with Chocolate Covered Lemon Peel. I never expected ice cream to be sour. I never knew it could be, but this is. Its not a toned-down, sweet grapefruit you might expect, but rather it captures the sour citrus taste perfectly. It unbelievable, but you may want to stick with a single scoop. It can be overwhelming.

Indonesian Vanilla is a very serious vanilla with rich, warm flavor. This is far from a generic, safe flavor. Its vanilla for people that know and love real vanilla.

I Hate Chocolate may be poorly named. It's not for those that dislike the dark flavor of fine chocolate because thats what it captures. Not too dark, just dark enough.
