“Pleasantly surprised...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

we stopped in on a sunday around noon. We were happily surprised with the decor. This used to be an old biker bar and pretty dingy. But it's been transformed and very nicely done. Were seated quickly and ordered martinis, which were excellent. We shared a cup of the crab & corn chowder, which was outstanding, and I had veal parmesan which was excellent, great potato filling, and corn fritters. My husband had ahi tuna, which was very good. Our server was not outstanding, but I guess we all learn as we go--I'm guessing he was new. We will go back.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience here! The server that was on that day is relatively new and he did get a little overwhelmed but like you said, he is learning and is getting better. Glad to hear you like the changes we've made too! The old stigma the place had is hard to get rid of but reviews like yours definitely help.

“Pleasant in Pleasantville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Randomly came upon this restaurant while driving on vacation. Upon walking in was taken back by the decoration and felt a little under dressed being I had been mountain biking. Quickly was made to feel at home. Menu had a lot to offer from full course meals to gourmet sandwiches. I had the french onion soup and a broiled crab patty sandwich. Both were excellent and the pricing very reasonable. If I'm ever in the area would like to visit again.

“Poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

Slow service with no check ins for what might be needed. Waited 1/2 hour for the check. Table next to us had appetizers come out at different times. Food OK, nothing to out up with slow shotty service.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience here. As you can tell from the other reviews, we usually do a good job but apparently we're not hundred percent of the time yet.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

The menu is extensive. The food is top notch. A lovely little inn. I've eaten there quite a few times. The outside seating isn't very pleasing. However the quality of food is delightful.

“Beware: Looooong Wait!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

We waited 40 minutes for a cheeseburger & turkey platter. Food was ok but service terrible! Saturday lunch, place was 3/4 full at the most. There was ONE server. She was OK, but kitchen was extremely slow. It was a stop on the Berks County Best Kept Secrets Tour, so they should definitely have known to have more people working. Will not go back again.
