The four of us were glad that we didn't have a paid/scheduled Falling Water or Kentuck Knob tour after our visit to the Ohiopyle House Cafe, we may have missed the tour.
* So, Wright Tour Goers - unless you have your tours scheduled at least 2 hours apart with no time or interest to pull aside for great nature views and photo ops, don't risk your time frame by stopping here for a quick bite. You won't get it. As other places in this area, I found the service to be casual at best, slow at worst. To be fair to the servers, slow service can also mean a slow kitchen as well. The one upside we thought to a 40 minute wait for our food was that we thought that perhaps everything was cooked to order. Two of our 4 sandwiches were hot. This signals to me a problem of timing in the kitchen.
Yes, it was a 40 minute wait from our order (2 sodas and 2 iced teas took more than a few minutes before that) to the table, so, it was close to an hour from when we sat down at 1:45 pm. DEFINITELY RING THE BELL at the hostess stand IF YOU DON'T SEE ANYONE. We were the second customers. We walked by the bar and saw two customers watching football, and I walked inside the empty dining area to get to the restroom. There was a family of 6 already seated on the outside patio. Our waitress came out before theirs.
Our food was tasty - 2 wraps, a burger and a steak sandwich. However we thought the fries would be warmer considering the time we waited. No check back from the waitress when we got our food, so I had to go to the hostess stand, ring the bell, and ask her to get extra napkins and a side of ranch dressing.
Since this late lunch was our last with our friends before we parted ways to Ohio and New Jersey, we didn't mind as much. However we were pretty hungry by 2:30, and we all had to get on the road to be home at a decent time on Sunday. It would have been nicer if we had time to gab after our meal, instead of spending the time before eating wondering where the service and the food was.
They serve food on original FiestaWare. Pretty.

I would like to apologize for a less than acceptable visit to our Cafe. Although your experience did not meet your expectations, I assure you that we do take our business very seriously and under no circumstance do we want a customer to walk away unhappy. Our main objective here at the Cafe is to provide each of our customers with a pleasing experience that they will remember and want to return to. All of our meals are cooked to order from scratch (everything is homemade) causing greater wait times than a precooked dish that could be provided in a shorter time frame. We understand that at some point the wait time becomes unacceptable and we are working hard to correct this issue. We strive to hire a knowledgeable, energetic staff who are full of personality and who can handle the diversity of our customers. We feel that we have a great staff here at the Cafe. We understand that everyone has a bad day however we do not condone our staff letting whatever issue they may have show through in their service. Due to the nature of our business, our staff works under extreme conditions and for the most part they handle it very well and treat our customers with the utmost respect. We feel that some of our reviews seem a little harsh, however our policy is that the customer is always right. We would like to be given a chance to right our wrong. Please return to the Cafe and give us another chance, I feel certain we can provide you with a much better experience. Also please email me before your next visit so I can provide you with any specials we may have for that time.
