“Not a place for sleep.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Most of the my normal hotels were book, so we booked here as a last resort. The hotel has a night club built into it. The lobby was vibrating when we checked in. Our room was right next door to it. The clerk offered us alternatives. One was a smoking room, which he said would smell a lot. Or a room that ended up about 50 ft further away. The distance didn't help. Our windows vibrated until one thirty in the morning. The room was not particularly clean either. There were stains on the wall, that should have been obvious to the cleaning staff. Not a place to sleep at all.

Room Tip: Book way ahead of time, and ask for a room in the back.

The hotel was difficult to find and navigate through the parking lot / into traffic. Rooms were confusing to locate. Breakfast was good and rates were low considering the Pittsburgh area. Staff were unable to locate the extra cot we requested and were guaranteed would be available because the attendant did not have a key to where they were kept. Reasonably clean, good breakfast included. You get what you pay for. For budget traveling it is a good value.

wife and i are pretty picky but this was a great room for the money. we had a non-smoking king room near the front and it was clean and comfortable! Breakfast was the usual fare but well worth it for a free meal. Had no issues and will return when we visit Heinz Feild again!!

First off, the non-smoking room smelled of smoke and it was hard to sleep when all I could smell was smoke all night long. The room was somewhat clean but very run down and old. The free breakfast was nasty and unless you are on a budget, I suggest you try one of the family restaurants nearby.

However, the WORST part of the experience was the bar in the middle of the hotel that blasted music late Saturday night. When I, along with numerous other guests, went to complain the woman at the front desk said she could do nothing about the music. The music was so loud it literally SHOOK the floor of the rooms that were above the bar. Three different guests who came to check-in left due to the loud music and several other guests checked out; however, the manager of the Quality Inn did not even show up to address the issue. Since the woman working at the front desk said she was unable to stop the music that was so loud we could hardly speak without shouting, I decided to call the police. When I had trouble calling from my room, I called the front desk to ask how to call out to the police on a non-emergency number. She hung up the phone on me and told me to figure it out myself! So...the Quality Inn Pittsburgh North could not stop the extremely loud music screaming through the walls of their hotel and when a guest attempted to call the police they tried to prevent that from happening. I, however, called from my cell phone and the cops arrived. They spoke to the bar and they adjusted the noise level so the floor stopped shaking, but the music continued.

Some questions/thoughts for the Quality Inn of Pittsburgh to consider: Where was the manager of the hotel as dozens of angry guests and the police were at the front desk of the hotel? How can this hotel not have a relationship with the bar that is in the middle of its hotel? The average customers staying at a hotel are staying there to sleep. The front desk employee must NEVER hang up on a customer trying to reach the police.

This is an old but clean hotel that is acceptable for an overnight stay. Check in was a flashback to the 1960s, which would have been cute had there not been someone in front of me. This is my second stay here, and I was assured here is wired and wireless Internet. Both time, neither work. So I have to get up at 5 am and go to McDonalds to work t his morning.

Room furniture is very dated. There are better hotels around here, but for some reason the prices are ridiculously high for this remote part of Pittsburgh.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel

I stayed here because it was where family had reserved a group of rooms for a wedding. I can't believe they actually checked this place out before doing do, otherwise I would think another hotel would have been chosen. This hotel was dated, the room smelled stale and it didn't appear that it was really cleaned. My bed covers were full of cigarette burns, even though I was supposedly in a non-smoking room. The beds were moderately comfortable, but typical hotel quality which may have been the best thing about the place. The bathroom was tiny and the shower leaked all over everywhere because the shower curtain was way too small. Plus there was no water pressure unless you wanted to scald yourself. There is a restaurant/bar at this facility that has a "band" play...and play.....and play....and play untill almost 1:00 in the morning. All of the rooms my family were in faced the center courtyard which is also where the band was situated in the bar. It was so loud it was impossible to sleep. I absolutely wouldn't stay here again and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel!!! This one is so loud.
