“excellent food, BYOB”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011

we love this place. Stopped for lunch several months ago and were totally blown away. The soup and sandwiches were great. So was the service. Later we learned it was the chef from Cravings that we had also enjoyed when in it's original place.
We have been back several times for dinner with friends and always pleased to hear our friends say how good the food is & why we have kept it a secret this long.
We wish them luck and hope they stay for a very long time.

“Wide Selection, Outstanding Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2011

We've been following Chef Ted around since his Cravings Cafe days, in both of its locations. He always comes up with outstanding menu ideas at reasonable prices. Don't let the suburban shopping center location fool you - this is excellent cuisine.

The menu ranges from sandwiches, soups, and salads to full entrees. The homemade soups are particularly noteworthy; the old Cravings signature roasted red pepper cheddar cheese soup isn't always available but lobster seafood bisque is. Salads are generous. I particularly like the Maximus Steak Baguette, with its delicious mix of steak, blue cheese, and carmelized onions. The duck is also excellent. Be sure to leave room for dessert.

Check their menu on-line before going at www.63bistro.com, and expect several additional daily specials.

My only criticisms are that the room can be noisy and I wish they'd have better iced tea. I also miss the brunches they sometimes had at the most recent Cravings location. This isn't a romantic getaway. But if you're looking for unique food at a reasonable price, try out this BYOB.

“Casual Atmosphere and 4 Star Food that brings you back again and again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

This is an amazing find in the suburbs of Philadelphia. (North Wales, Montgomery County). Don't be fooled by the strip mall setting and the very casual appearance. I've been to this BYOB restaurant numerous times and the service and the food are consistently excellent. The menu has such things as salads, grilled flatbread pitas, wraps, burgers, sandwiches and full entrees. The shrimp and crab flatbread is a full meal and is so rich, you will probably take home a doggie bag. Tonight I had the short ribs with birch beer BBQ sauce. No knife necessary as the meet was juicy and fell apart. The sauce is unusual and delicious. I always start with a Ceasar salad because they make it perfectly. Served on chilled dishes and a chilled salad fork, the salad is properly dressed and not a drop of water on your plate. Just shows you their attention to detail. The crab cakes are excellent and the specials are always a treat. Make sure you try their flavored ice teas. My favorite is the maple leaf duck breast. If you like duck like me, you probably are usually disappointed when you order it because it is so hard to prepare right so that its not greasy or over cooked. The duck is perfectly cooked (rare), has crispy skin and is served with a dark cherry sauce that is addictive. Don't even think of leaving without having the white chocolate bread pudding! The chocolate cake is for true chocolate lovers and I can't imagine finishing an entire portion because it is so rich. The prices are very reasonable for food that is prepared at a level that one would expect in a 4 star restaurant in center city Philly. We always have an appetizer, entree and dessert and the bill for two of us is always under $50 with tip. Speaking of service, the service is as casual and friendly as the surroundings, but very attentive. On top of everything you can find discount coupons for the restaurant. They also have take out and a separate catering menu. 63 Bistro has quickly become our favorite suburban restaurant.
