“Great Little Zoo, Awesome Playground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Elmwood Park is a great little zoo. The exhibits are mostly well planned. They have nice events for the kids. The playground and picnic areas are really nice.

My only complaint is the big cat exhibits are ENTIRELY too small. They should really be ashamed of having animals in those tiny cages. Dog runs are bigger than those things. People don't even like to look at the exhibits because they are so sad for the animals.

“Great for Small Children and Families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is a small, quaint zoo and alot of fun for small children and a nice day out for families. We happened to be there for their Halloween party and it was lots of fun to see the kids and all of the exhibits

“Fabulous small-town zoo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

This zoo is a treasure. How many small towns have a zoo at all? Elmwood Park Zoo is a smaller-scale version of the large city zoos around the country -- a real class act. Animals are varied, healthy, well-presented. The grounds are lovely, and there is a smattering of art work too. This is an ideal place to take your family. Small kids love it, and it is not overwhelming. Do go!

“Get a membership, its worth it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We have a family membership and our son loves it. He is 2 so its the perfect zoo for him. No they dont have giraffes, elephants and other giant animals, but what they do have is close to you and great. Cougars, water buffalo and other pretty large animals are on site so thats pretty good. They have a number of things for little kids to do which is great. Its a good place to strap a kid in a stroller and walk around for a while, plus they have a playground in the middle if they want to get out and run around. Much cheaper than the Philly zoo which is a huge plus!

“Small zoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

They have an interesting mix of animals for a small zoo, including bison, but some of the animals are in cages with thick mesh that makes it hard for younger kids to see them. It is a small zoo, so it is pretty easy to see it all in an hour or two. We have eaten at their small cafe.....decent food, limited selection.
