“First impressions are lasting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We had never been to New Hope before. We found The Wishing Well through a site we had a gift certificate for, and we also wanted to bring our dog. I reached out only a day or two before a summer weekend, and after playing sme phone tag, was able book their dog friendly room, at a reasonable price, use the gift certificate and check in later as well. We arrived around 830PM and were greeted by the very happy and charming Michael who welcomed us and showed us our room. We were able to be very comfortable there with our dog. The other guests were also very nice. Breakfast and snacks were nice and convenient. The house layout is so cute. The walk to creek in the back was great. Being so close to the place with dancing, dinner and a piano bar could not have been nicer, and we even had a chance to visit socially with Daniel the owner. Loved that there is a piano right in the living room! We could not have asked for a whole lot more for a fist visit!

Room Tip: Be specific about any needs or requests you have for your stay prior to getting there. The dog frien...

I extremely enjoyed this inn! Beautiful landscape and in walking distance to the river, stores, and everything you needed. I stayed here for my twin brothers wedding, which was up the road, and location couldn't have been better. Thank you and I will see you soon!

My wife and I have been going to the Wishing Well for the past 11 years. Every time we have stayed there the experience has been consistently pleasant and warm. The Wishing Well has all of the old world charm you would expect from a 150+ year old farm house and a little more. The owner, Dan, is a wonderful and welcoming host and the inn keepers are always warm and pleasant. We have stayed in almost every room and each one offers a little something different than the other. We always feel welcome there and you are free to have the run of the house. Breakfast is served on time, and they will even accept a special request. The Wishing Well is a great place to go, relax and escape the hustle of everyday life. It is a very special place and magical place to us which we intend on going to for as long as we can. For us the Wishing Well Guest House is a shining example of what a B&B should really be. Keep up the great work Dan!

Sent my parents here for a weekend getaway! They remarked about the home like experience and how wonderful breakfast was! Daniel and Michael were extremely friendly. Hope to send my parents back next year :)

Although we were only able to stay one night, we really enjoyed this B&B. The building has lots of character with unique and nicely decorated rooms and common areas. Although close to the main road into town, there was no noise from the cars and the property backs up to a quiet woods, and it is just a short drive into the main part of town. The innkeeper Mike was very friendly and kind and always available, made good restaurant recommendations for us, and fixed a very nice breakfast in the morning. The Raven, just across the street, was great fun on the weekend night. Being an old house, the walls are a bit thin and the floors creaky, so we could hear conversations and people coming back later at night after we went to bed, so if you are a very light sleeper, this might be something to consider. Overall we enjoyed the place very much and will definitely look forward to our next stay.

First, let me say I LOVE B&Bs for their homey-ness and their history. When I heard that a group of conference delegates was taking over The Wishing Well, I did what I needed to do to be included.

The location is superb, easy walking distance into town (weather permitting) and super-close to the Raven and the Cub Room. The accommodations themselves were perfect for people like me who would rather stay in a room that feels like family than the corporate-cookiecutter rooms that most hotels provide.

Michael, our innkeeper, is very warm and accommodating. Happy hours are truly happy, as with our first evening enjoying wine and a cheery fire before heading off to evening events. Morning breakfasts were delicious and Mike made sure we all had a good breakfast before our workshops began, even though that meant HIS morning began more than an hour earlier. And honestly, what's better than waking up to the smell of coffee and a hot breakfast?

My partner and I are checking our schedules for when we would like to come back. When I lived in Philly I went to New Hope all the time. The Wishing Well gives many reasons to stay over, and over, and over again!

Room Tip: Let Michael know your needs - if you cannot do stairs, there are two rooms on the ground floor. If...
