“Never go here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

I picked up 2 desserts for entertaining at home. One was an apple pie. When we cut into it to serve, it was so incredibly moldy that it resembled quiche. There is no excuse for this level of uncleanliness.

“Best Fresh Breads and Deserts in Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Small place with limited parking but if you're walking through New Hope and want to try the best deserts and breads in the area, give it a try. On a warm day, they have a lovely view of the river.

“Best pastry and coffee in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Always make a stop at this quaint mastery & coffee shop whenever I'm in town. They also serve sandwiches but do a poor job displaying a menu. Mastery is the real deal. Prices average for area. Limited seating inside, there are plenty of seating outside. This is a must stop.

“Best Bakery in the Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

If you are looking for a quality French bakery, C'est La Vie is the best in the Central Bucks area (Crossroads Bakery in Doylestown is probably on par for breads). All of the breads, rolls, and pastries here are fabulous. They make the best brioche I have ever tasted, including in France. Glad to see they are back open after being closed for most of the summer. Also, they have a nice area to look out over the Delaware River.

“Better Than Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The owner is indeed, from Paris, but having been to that city several times, I can assure you that C'est La Vie has better pastries. It's rare when you can find a bakery that has excellent bread as well as excellent pastries, but C'est La Vie has both! It is a true delight. No one has mentioned, however, that savouries are available as well. There are croissants with both sweet and savoury fillings, seasonal soups and baguettes can be made into sandwiches (ham, turkey, Swiss and Brie are available). Here's a hint: my husband and I frequently share 1/2 a baguette sandwich to leave room for the delectable pastries. The coffee and hot chocolate are excellent, other beverages are available as well. It's especially memorable for children to scan the showcase, trying to select "just one".
