My fiance and I stumbled upon Parry Mansion while wandering around New Hope and decided to go in for their free tour. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of information and interesting things to see within the house. Each room is decorated to represent a different era where the Parrys lived in the house.
I was really impressed at the authentic centuries-old objects (such as original rugs, bibles, furniture) that they maintained in the house without any barriers and obtrusive "DO NOT TOUCH" signs. It really gave the tour an intimate, reverent feel. Most of my fellow tour members were smart enough to not touch anything out of respect and to help preserve the items. They have donation boxes but we were never once haggled or hassled about donating. What a pleasant find in the middle of a hot summer day!
TIP: Go to the mansion a little earlier than anticipated during weekends/tourist season to check the next "tour begins" time so you can plan ahead. Also I would recommend waiting in front of the mansion about 10 mins before your tour, as they have an occupancy limit and can't take more than about 12 people per tour b/c of the size of the rooms.
