“Great alternative to Shady Maple...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2010

I grew up on Pennsylvania Dutch food, so when I visit the area, it's always nice to go to one of the local buffets to get a taste of all of my favorites. On our last trip, we planned to go to Shady Maple's smorgasbord, but when we finally found a parking spot and went inside, there must have been 800 people waiting to be seated. Seriously. So off we went to Yoder's, which also has a buffet...and what a great decision!

Although the restaurant ended up being quite busy (there was a fairly long line after we arrived), it didn't have the madhouse feel of Shady Maple. The food was all well-prepared and fresh --nothing appeared to have been on the warming table too long. We visited on a Saturday evening, when they offer seafood on the buffet, in addition all of the usual goodies -- the seafood bisque, in particular, was very much enjoyed by my dining companions. The only small disappointment was that they didn't have my all-time favorite -- pork and sauerkraut -- that day, but everything else was so good that I didn't end up missing it at all. Very glad to have remembered this place -- it'll be our preferred stop in the future!

“Yoder's? Shady? No comparison. . .Yoders all the way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2010

My wife and I frequently eat out. We live in Terre Hill which is about 5 minutes from Shady and Yoders. The food at Yoders is so much more authentic and tastes home cooked instead of the commericalized tastes (and gut ache) found at Shady. We eat at Yoders about once a week and are never disappointed! They are even open SUNDAY NOW for a great brunch!

“The complete package in a Pennsylvania Dutch Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2009

Whether ordering off the menu or choosing the buffet, Yoder's is tops. Just visit the other "Pennsylvania Dutch" Restaurants in Lancaster County and compare the prices. Yoder's is much more reasonable and their food is absolutely delicious. They the traditional PA Dutch foods and some others as well...its all delicious. The servers are very nice and you get a free buffet on your birthday! They have a terrific seafood buffet on Friday evenings. I have visited almost all of the PA Dutch Restaurants in the Lancaster area and you'll get your best deal here.

“This place is fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2009

We never visit Lancaster County without stopping by multiple times (any time of day).
Buffet is a great deal . . . everything is clean and food is bountiful and not cheap, 'starchy' products. We noticed several years ago 'The Locals' account for a good percentage of the diners....always a good sign!
