I grew up on Pennsylvania Dutch food, so when I visit the area, it's always nice to go to one of the local buffets to get a taste of all of my favorites. On our last trip, we planned to go to Shady Maple's smorgasbord, but when we finally found a parking spot and went inside, there must have been 800 people waiting to be seated. Seriously. So off we went to Yoder's, which also has a buffet...and what a great decision!
Although the restaurant ended up being quite busy (there was a fairly long line after we arrived), it didn't have the madhouse feel of Shady Maple. The food was all well-prepared and fresh --nothing appeared to have been on the warming table too long. We visited on a Saturday evening, when they offer seafood on the buffet, in addition all of the usual goodies -- the seafood bisque, in particular, was very much enjoyed by my dining companions. The only small disappointment was that they didn't have my all-time favorite -- pork and sauerkraut -- that day, but everything else was so good that I didn't end up missing it at all. Very glad to have remembered this place -- it'll be our preferred stop in the future!
