This steam engine train trip starts in New Freedom PA and travels the rails to Hanover Junction, where Lincoln stopped on his way to give Gettysburg address. Small museum in Hanover Junction has history of train line and Lincoln info. Ride round trip takes 3 hours and has lovely scenery and good commentary along the way. Steam engine is reproduction (the same as the one used in the 1860's) and two rail cars, one is an open air one. Nice gift shop in New Freedom; round trip ticket is $17 for adults. We never realized all the civil war history to the line. Worth a day to enjoy the rails. You can also ride a shorter route to Glen Rock and back which takes about an hour.
