This is our second time staying at this resort and the last time was over 8-10 years ago when they had a family resort owned by Casear's. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this stay. To begin with, the front desk staff and management were not very pleasant and welcoming. The manager never smiled and looked tired. We paid close to $450 a night for our room at the Diana's Oasis. The room was dark and the air was not very clean. They probably do not change the filters in the heater. We developed a cough from being there and when we got back home were able to finally sleep well. They did not change the sheets the whole time we were there. The curtain was ripped. There were nicks and cracks on the walls and furniture. There was nothing in the refrigerator, no microwave. The 1 TV they have in the room looked old and radio was outdated. They only put 2 tiny shampoos in the bathroom and hand soap. They nickel and dime you for everything they possibly can. No drinks, no snacks, nothing in the hotel room. The mirrors in the pool area were dirty. They also did not change the water in the pool from the last couple that was there. The cleaning staff were not very friendly and probably very underpaid. They live right next door in a tiny room. Sometimes the cleaning person would just walk in to our room without knocking and not even apologize. There was no safe in these expensive rooms either. The food in the lobby building was horrible. Breakfast is the same scrambled eggs with canned fruits. No fresh fruits. No waffles. Pancakes were very dry. On some days the waiters and waitresses looked very overworked. They would often eat in the same area as the guests after breakfast was over and would eat the same food. Even though gratuity was already included in this "all-inclusive" resort, it seems that the staff did not get much of it as many were not happy to work there from what we could see. The lady who worked near the popcorn machine in the game room area was very rude. Staff at the front desk had no idea of the schedule of activities at their sister resorts (which they give free access to) and would not even offer to call. Also there is no transportation provided by the hotel to other resorts so you have to drive on your own sometimes up to an hour at a time. Dinner food was also progressively worse over the days we stayed there. Potatoes were cold, shrimp meals had only a few jumbo shrimp. The worst is that unlike the last time we stayed there, this time for New Year's they did not have any special dinner, cakes, or any snacks during the New Year's Bash. They also did not provide any champagne! You have to pay for everything. I would not recommend this resort to anyone unless you can get a deal for well under $200 a night.
