“Recent good review made us stay, but we will not return here.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Even though this hotel is 25 mins away from Bushkill, it had the most decent rating so we chose to stay here. Turned out it wasn't a very good choice.

An hour before scheduled checkin, we received a call that the hotel inventory was wrong and we would not be staying in the King Non Smoking that we booked. They could only give us a King Smoking or Double Non Smoking. After much debate on canceling due to THEIR error, the manager supposedly wasn't available to authorize waving the penalty for cancellation. It seems pretty intentional that calling us an hour before allowed checkin instead of notifying us the day before & possibly giving us the chance to cancel was very wrong on their part. Even after checkin, I received 2 more phone calls saying there was a problem with our room. Lack of communication between hotel front desk personnel and their call service should not have penalized us.

We were forced to choose the double beds and THEY WERE AWFUL! First they were both extremely low to the ground and weren't even comfortable to SIT on, let alone sleep in. Second, they were both very shaky. As soon as one of us moved, the whole bed shook, A LOT, it was like the bedframe itself was not stable. Neither one of us slept at all.

While the room, fridge, and microwave appeared pretty clean, the bathroom was a different story. The showerhead was covered in mold or some other black substance. We didn't shower before checking out. The mirror frame was peeling apart above the sink... appeared to be this way for years without any attempt to repaint it.

The hallway from the front desk REEKED of smoke. I noticed the rooms between the front desk and our rooms were smoking, while our room and those after our room were non-smoking. Our room did not smell like smoke, but did smell of old musty cologne. Not sure if this was normal for an older hotel or just a cover up for residual smoke from close proximity to the smoking rooms. Smoking rooms should be in the back of the hotel, not immediately next to the front desk.

Lastly, if you don't want to hear your neighbors 3am "business", then you may not want to stay here. The walls don't block much noise (at least much less than any other hotel we've ever stayed in), which added to our already high level of discomfort attempting to sleep before our long drive home.

One positive thing to say was the front desk ladies were nice and apologetic. None of the issues we had were directly their fault.

Stayed two nights in October 2013 and found the hotel to be quite clean and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff was outstandingly friendly and helpful. This is not a new or fancy property, however I highly value a clean room and would definitely stay there again. The only problem we encountered is that the air conditioner in our room was very loud and seemed to get louder during the night when it had been running awhile. However, this may just be an issue with the AC in this one room. Other than that, we had no complaints and enjoyed our stay very much. There is easy access to the interstate and plenty of dining options nearby.

We have stayed in many motels all over USA in our 6 weeks of travel. Although this motel is not young and modern it is clean and tidy. Fannie is awesome - friendly and helpful - recommended restaurant next door and the meal was great

I won't recommend this hotel at all. The access card did not work every day. My room was at the end of the corridor, so I had to walk back and forth to get it fixed. The room's carpet and sofa looked so old and dirty. The room had a bad smell. The carpet was not vacuumed every day. The bed spread even had a hole from cigarette burn. One night the air conditioning was not working propery. It was not cool and I had someone to take a look in the middle of the night and I was given a fan to use that night.

I don't like the breakfast at all. Only the waffles and Coffee are hot. Boiled eggs were cold. Bacons were not crispy at all. Every day had the same thing.

Room Tip: Room was second floor (back of the building), last room, king size bed with sofa pull-out.

Had a problem checking in because of ORBITZ and Fannie at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. Very sweet and took care of our problem. This is somebody who should be a manager, not just working the front desk. She is a shining star!! thanks a million! You are the best!!

After reading the negative reviews I wasn't sure I wanted to keep my reservation at Hotel M, but I'm glad we did. Room was clean and spacious, in need of a little updating but still clean and comfortable. The hotel is a short drive to The Beautiful Mt. Airy Lodge and Casino and many restaurants. We were only here for one night but the staff was very nice and the breakfast a nice treat. I would definitely stay here again.

When we originally booked this hotel for our family reunion, they were the Quality Inn. By the time we arrived five months later, they were Hotel M. The service was terrible. Due to full occupancy, many people went without hot water. There was an infestation on ants! The hotel manager was MIA the entire time. They did not provide the breakfast promised and made no effort whatsoever to accommodate anyone. They charge your card the moment you check into the room; and, people who paid on a nightly basis were literally locked out of their room (the key was deactivated). PLEASE do not give these people your money. You will regret it.

Room Tip: If you absolutely must stay here, rooms closest to the lobby are best. Hope that the hotel is nowher...
