I didn't really know what to expect when I walked into Zuckfoltzfus Brewing Company. It looks small and quaint. Inside, though, is anything but. We were greeted warmly by staff and seated at a long table that well accommodated our party. I'm not a beer drinker, so the hosts quickly brought me a delicious local red wine. I tried two of the beers--the strawberry and the oatmeal stout--that everyone was raving about and really liked them. And the food. The food! You just don't find many options like this in Lancaster County. Delicious appetizers and a lovely cheese selection. A choice of five or six entrees spanned meat, poultry, and vegetarian options--something for everyone, all well-prepared and delicious. We were all swapping bites. The poached pear dessert was light and refreshing.
This is definitely a place for grown-ups, where you'll meet new friends in a warm setting. We loved it and didn't want to leave. I still have trouble pronouncing the name, but no matter. We'll definitely be back.
