We were referred to Country Gardens by a nearby B&B which was our first choice but had no vacancy. The house is nicely furnished, very clean, and the family was helpful, courteous, and
business-like in their approach to their guests. Our stay was unfortunately tainted by our inability to sleep well due to road noise since the house is at a sometimes busy crossroads. We had just stayed in Center City Philadelphia and found that to be a quieter sleeping environment. The other concern we had was that we felt somewhat compelled to confine ourself to our room, and did not feel like guests were welcome to share in the rest of the home. There is no TV for guests and our suite was actually 2 adjoining rooms without a door, so there was no real additional privacy. There was extra space than some other rooms, although our bathroom was very tight. The breakfasts were very creative, tasty, and plentiful food was provided. Also, breakfast is at 8am and there was not any indication of flexibility with that time. The owners have 3 boys who help out and are friendly and helpful. There are some goats, a llama, chickens, and cats for the kids to play with. Also a hayride by tractor is available. While the Zieglers seemed to be good Christian folks and we enjoyed some aspects of our stay, we did not find the level of comfort and a true sense of bed and breakfast experience that we had hoped for.
