I planned this trip with several objectives in mind: 1) Stay on a farm and have the kids take part in "farm activities/chores"; 2) Learn more about the Amish; and 3) Go to Dutch Wonderland. I chose Green Acres because they appeared to have a lot of farm animals and activities for the kids.
First, the animals and farm: They have a donkey, a goat, several sheep and chickens. The animals stayed in their enclosure the entire time. (The goat will, often times, climb a platform and slide down a slide--cute!) The kids collected eggs in the morning, and then Mr. Miller fed the animals. That's about it for the farm chores. Mr. Miller also took everyone for a hay ride which gave us a pretty view of the countryside. There were kittens running around the farm, which my daughters loved. (Several, however, were very ill...one even ended up dying.)
Second, the kids' activities: There were a lot of kids' activities, including two playhouses, swing sets, a tricycle, a trampoline (which was a little sketchy) and several wooden toys inside. If nothing else, the kids had a blast!
Next, the B&B: The inside of the B&B was decorated in a country motif (it kind of reminded me of my grandmother's house). My husband and I thought it had a certain charm to it. The rooms were adequate. We had a queen bed, and the girls had a bunk bed to sleep in. They thought that was pretty cool! Make sure to ask for railings on the bunk bed, because they were not built with any, and it didn't appear that they had enough for every bunk bed in the B&B. (Also sketchy.) The Millers were great cooks. The breakfast feast was plentiful and very yummy! Although the Millers were hospitable most times, they seemed to be inconvenienced by their guests at other times.
Bottom line: Although we enjoyed our trip--especially the girls--we probably wouldn't go back because: 1) There weren't enough farm activities; 2) There were some dangerous aspects of the farm and B&B; 3) It was a little too far-removed from the activities that we wanted to take part in (Dutch Wonderland, visiting Bird-in-Hand/Lancaster/etc.). I would definitely not recommend staying here if you do not have kids.
