I chose the Outback for dinner as it was right next to my hotel. I had done some on line research for vegan restaurants in the area and the few I found required a drive. Having done five hours of that to get here, I opted for the Outback. I had never eaten in this chain before. Although it is a steakhouse with lots of meat entrees, I was able to put together a vegan dinner with sides. When I told my waitress of my dietary preference, she was helpful and accommodating. She asked if I ate butter, when I said I did not, she informed the kitchen not to cook the vegetables with it. She gave me warm brown bread with olive oil. My dinner was good and satisfying: steamed broccoli, squash and carrots with grilled asparagus, a delicious "dry" baked potato and a side salad. I ate in a booth in the bar, which was attractive and comfortable.
