“Wish we had stayed longer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2009

My husband and I drove out to Mill Run with three friends to see Falling Water and had booked the nearest lodging. What a fantastic treat to discover such a wonderful B&B. Three of us shared one room (with private bath) and were very comfortable. The owners, Jim and Liberty were welcoming, helpful and yet discrete. We felt welcomed to their home more than a hotel. The breakfast was excellent and healthy. The homemade cookies in the evening wonderful! Everything was VERY clean and well kept. We have stayed in many B&Bs both in the US and in Europe and this is surely one of the best. it is also perfect for a trip to Falling Water... an easy few miles up the road.

My husband & I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a visit to Falling Water and Kentuck Knob over Memorial Day week-end. We stayed at the delightful Country Seasons Bed & Breakfast that I found by chance on the internet. Our summer room was very clean and comfortable. Libby and Jim were excellent hosts and very welcoming. Tea and homemade cookies were always available and the breakfasts were delicious. Only in their second year of running a B & B, they are doing an excellent job.

On the spur of the moment we decided to skip the conventional Memorial Day activities at the beach and visit Fallingwater. Using Trip Advisor we selected Country Seasons B&B and were not disappointed. We were warmly greeted by Libby and Jim who run a beautifully renovated B&B just three miles from Fallingwater. The room was nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. After checking in we drove to the next town of Ohiopyle, about seven miles away, and had a nice dinner at one of the local restaurants. After dinner we returned to Country Seasons and walked up the lane next to their house to the top of the hill to watch a beautiful sunset. After witnessing nature’s amazing light show, we shared a bottle of wine we had brought from home on the cozy front porch before retiring for the night. We selected a 7:30 breakfast which was delightful. This morning Libby served fresh pancakes, fruit & eggs with ham. A great start to a visit to Fallingwater. We understand that the most popular time to visit Fallingwater is in the fall when the leaves are turning however late May was fantastic. When we return, we will be sure to make reservations at Country Seasons.

My husband has always wanted to visit Falling Water. So this year, as a special birthday gift I decided that a visit to Falling Water would be perfect. We drove from D.C. and decided to stay overnight at Country Seasons as our tour was at 8:45 A.M. The room was very comfortable, very clean and cozy. Breakfast was served promptly at 7:30. Delicious! Our hosts Jim any Libby were great.

We have just returned from a two-week road trip from Chicago to Williamsburg. Our plans included stops in Gettysburg and to Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Falling Water home. The Wright home is located in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands, a gorgeous stretch of the Allegheny Mountains. We discovered this B&B online and booked it based on its close location to Falling Water.
In short, Country Seasons is exactly what an excellent bed and breakfast should be. The inn is decorated in a warm, welcoming country theme--it is obvious that owners Liberty and Jim Sprague care a great deal about their place. Everything is clean, with darling touches throughout and comfort the top priority. A coffee/tea bar with homemade treats welcomed us upon arrival---yum! And the breakfast!! What a feast -- and cooked to our order. Liberty was considerate in asking us the night before if we had any special dietary needs. The fruit salad, pancakes and eggs were fabulous. And the coffee--always a barometer to us of good cooking--was perfect.
We liked Country Seasons so much that we booked a reservation for our return trip home. Jim and Liberty went out of their way to be caring, helpful hosts when an emergency arose and my brother had to be brought via ambulance to the local hospital. Jim kindly transported our luggage to us---over 10 miles away at the bottom of the mountain! What a great couple!
Beautiful setting...beautiful people...A great place to stay.

  • Liked — The delicious breakfast and treats, the cleanliness of the rooms, the caring owners
  • Disliked — Nothing! It was perfect!

This B&B is perfect for folks visiting Fallingwater, which is only a few miles down the road.

I had a chance to view all the rooms, and each appeared exceptionally clean, well kept, and comfortable.

Mine own room (Autumn) was perfect for 2 adults, although the bed was a little "lumpy", and could use a new mattress. Our traveling companions were appointed the "Summer" room, and they were delighted.

Because we had an early tour at Fallingwater, our hosts, Liberty and James arranged for our hot breakfast to be ready for us in plenty of time to enjoy our coffee, eggs, French toast, etc., and still have a leisurely drive to Fallingwater.

All in all, this is an excellent choice for folks visiting the area, and I highly recommend it.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, location, and the hosts
  • Disliked — mattress

Country Seasons Bed and Breakfast is just the place for those of us who love B&B's, This is the experience we are looking for when we choose to book a B&B rather than a hotel. There is a charm to this lovely and well-cared for B&B. The guest rooms are beautiful with attention to detail everywhere. The common room is a generous and comfortable place to relax in. The hosts are warm, kind and thoughtful people. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. I would heartily recommend anyone visiting FallingWater to consider staying at Country Seasons.
