Owner description: Perched on a rock above a gushing waterfall, this historic house was built for a Pittsburgh family by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930s, ingeniously designed to blend harmoniously into the tranquil and beautiful woods around it.

“An amazing work of art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

You don't have to be a fan of building architecture or construction techniques to enjoy a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. There is a good deal of walking on the tour, but the setting is beautiful. A trip to visit Fallingwater will not disappoint.

“Have wanted to see for so long and it exceeded expectation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014 via mobile

My family and I are FLW fans, especially my 11 year old son. We have been planning this trip for a while. I made reservations for the in depth tour (4:30) a couple months ago and was glad because it did sell out. Once the big day came, I was a little nervous that the home wouldn't live up to the hype. Well, it did. Quite simply-- spectacular. Make sure to go early enough to eat and shop and wander the grounds. The parking lot is very near gift shop if you have a late tour and need to shop first and store your things. Umbrellas are plentiful /available to everyone, so don't bring your own. It rained on our tour briefly, but that didn't spoil things. The food at the cafe was excellent. Go to Fallingwater!

“Rising while Falling!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

This is quite simply the finest piece of American architecture. Ever.
We toured Fallingwater many years ago, but this time we did the two-hour in-depth tour, and I can thoroughly recommend it. You really get under the skin of the property. Worth arriving at least an hour early to wander the grounds and take the plethora of photographs that (I guarantee) you will want to take! Every new angle offers a new perspective (in all senses of the word!). I've been an FLW fan since I was about 9 or 10, so to have been lucky enough to visit twice, well, it's bucket-list stuff, squared!

“Highly recommend the In-Depth Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

This is the 2nd time we've visited Fallingwater. The 1st time, we took the "regular" tour with teen-age kids and enjoyed it very much. This time, we decided on the In-Depth Tour (offered, it seems, only at the beginning and at the end of the day) and it was so worth it. You are not rushed at all and see the entire house - including the basement (OK, it is just a basement), but all the outdoor spaces, the guesthouse and the staff quarters (now used by the Executive Director and his/her staff as office space). Our tour guide was very, very knowledgable about FLW, the Kaufman family and, of course, the house.

“Amazing foresight by Lloyd Wright”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I were staying at Nemocolin Resort and saw that Fallingwater was close by so we made reservations, a must, for,a tour and drove over. It's about 20 minutes from Nemocolin and on winding roads that make you wonder how the Kauffman's ever found the property. Frank Lloyd Wright built this wonder of a home right into the hillside and a running stream with a waterfall. The tour director we had was informative and asked for questions but unfortunately she didn't always have answers for common questions. As you can imagine they are very sensitive to not touching, not photos and no purses or bags are allowed. The house was left as it was with a few necessary renovations. I've been to Taliesin West in Az and this house is so much more interesting. Try to plan a visit if you are in the area, though our guide told us they are completely booked for tours in the fall.

At this time we are not completely booked for tours in the fall, but we do sell out especially during our fall foliage season in October. If you are planning to visit this fall purchasing your tickets in advance is highly recommended to guarantee a tour.
