“SERENE, BEAUTIFUL AND EDUCATIONAL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Go to Fallingwater. The beauty begins even before you arrive at the home. The mountains along the drive provide some breath taking views in and of themselves. Especially now in the Fall with the crisp blue skies and ever changing tree colors.

You will be assigned a tour guide who takes groups of people through the home based on a time schedule. You can make advance reservations, or buy them upon arrival. Take some time to stroll through the gift shop for unique replicas and books on Frank Lloyd wright and some artsists who produce works in the same spirit.

The home is a real wonder when you consider the year in which it was built and the location of it in proximity to the falls and woods. It certainly speaks to Wright's genius. The tour guide we had provided information, but left us to ask questions that I had hoped would be part of the presentation. Such as woods used, why the small height of rooms...etc. As well, the home had been restored which was mentioned, but not information on how they took the time to ensure that nothing was changed during its' preservation. But ask as many questions as you want and you will not be disappointed.

Afterward we strolled down the paths in to the surrounding woods. Really quite beautiful.

I would rate this as a 5 simply for its' masterpiece...but I have rated as a 4 as an "attraction" more so of the limits of the tour guide...which could be hit or miss I suppose. BUT STILL GO!

“Love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

If you like architecture or Frank Lloyd Wright, this is a definite "Bucket List" stop. It's an amazing place in a beautiful setting. In addition to the building and furniture, there are a lot of museum quality art pieces throughout the house that will appeal to art lovers. The tour guide we had was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable. We got sort of held hostage at the end of our tour while some lady gave us a awkward sales pitch to join an organization related to Frank Lloyd Wright, but other than that, we had a wonderful and memorable visit.

“Frank's Masterpiece doesn't disappoint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Bucket List item #1 - check! Having waited for so long to finally see this work of art, I was a little apprehensive that it might not live up to the buildup in my own mind. Not to worry, Fallingwater is everything you want it to be and more. Every inch of the design screams genius and you can hardly take your eyes off it. And that doesn't even include the "money shot" from below the falls which you won't see until after the house tour unless you walk the grounds first.

“You have to go!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

It is worth every penny! Make reservations, wear comfortable shoes and go to the bathroom before you walk to the house! Even my redneck husband was impressed. He only went because he loves me but he came out completely blown away by the engineering, craftsmanship and the amount of time and labor it took to complete the house. So go with an open mind and you will find something interesting! I have been a Wright fan for many years and of course I was totally thrilled with entire experience.

This is a real treasure. I visited Fallingwater 2 times this summer, each time the tour guide gave great and unique information about this beautiful property. If you want to be truly amazed, visit Fallingwater, you will not be disappointed.
