“Clean Motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2011

Cleanliness is king and it's a good motel that is clean. The room we stayed in was well executed with updated furnishings and bedding (do be careful though since the mattress top moves easily away from the base and the base edges protrude out which can be a tripping hazard). The continental breakfast, the table area, and especially the employee who made sure everything was properly set up and maintained, were definitely better than is found at most other motels and a pleasure to have experienced!

In the two rooms we rented, they did not have a refrigerator, nor was the sink area separated from the bathroom which is apparently the case with some of the rooms in this motel, therefore, if these are important features be sure to ask about them before booking the room. The front desk employees could have expressed some enthusiasm but promptly provided all the necessary services. A major drawback for us was that the indoor pool was extremely cold rendering it fairly useless for young children to use comfortably (we arrived too late to ask management if they could increase the heat in the pool). The Internet connection was not secure, per a message that popped up and was confirmed with the front desk.

It just seems to me that all the motels we've stayed in for the past several years are all priced beyond their value when all they are providing is a standard room with no exceptional amenities. The price for this motel was right in line with the higher price charged at most motels these days, which is too high in my opinion, but the cleanliness and better continental breakfast and its presentation helped to offset a little the higher room pricing.

Lamar, PA is literaly in the middle of nowhere. We stayed there as it is about half way between Philadelphia and Erie where we were headed for our son's graduation. It is right off of I-80. DO NOT use the hotel's published address in your GPS as it won't take you there.

The rooms were clean and bright. The front desk staff were pleasant enough. We weren't there long at all. Checked in around 9PM and out by 7 the next morning. We didn't used any of the facilities.

Stayed here one year ago with no problems. Made sure to come back next time in area. Would have had wonderful experience again if not assaulted by bedbugs.

We stopped at this Hampton Inn on way home from Atlantic City to Michigan. It was right off of the Interstate, which was convenient. It's definitely a newer hotel. The front desk staff were pleasant enough, though I wouldn't necessarily characterize them as "friendly". The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, non-smoking, studio suite. It was very spacious and clean, and included a fridge and microwave (with a free bag of buttered popcorn!), coffee machine, hair dryer, ironing board/iron and extra blankets and pillows. The vanity was very nice and was located outside of the bathroom, which was nice when getting ready in the morning. There was a 2nd floor laundry room (coin operated) which we used. The hotel has an indoor pool but it's on the smaller side and when we went in there with our two kids there were several other families also using the pool - and it was LOUD! We ended up leaving after 20 minutes because it was so jammed. The ice machine on our floor was broken so I told the front desk clerk about it and she just sort of seemed to shrug it off. The buffet in the morning is good, and includes waffles, assorted breads and muffins, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, sausage patties, coffee and juices. There is a Perkins within walking distance of the hotel, but it was awful and I wouldn't recommend eating there. There a couple of other restaurants close to the hotel and several about 10 minutes west. And finally, as a side-note, there is free wi-fi and parking, and the scenery/view outside our window was breathtaking.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn when we couldn't get a room in State College. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful, the bed was great, and my tween and teen both liked the breakfast. We've had very good luck with Hampton Inns lately, and this one was no exception -- clean, friendly and nice amenities for a reasonable price. Only one suggestion -- a place to hang up clothes would have been an added benefit.

the hotel was fairly new and had no reviews on tripadvisor.com prior to our visit.
We found it clean and comfortable. Also it was not very busy, so a lot of the background noise normally found from the neighboring rooms did not exist there. The staff was super friendly.
One thing I would have liked to see them have that wasn't present in the room was a small refrigerator. We had gone out to eat and brought leftovers home that we had to throw away, as there were no fridges in the rooms. I think for the amount of money guests are paying, a fridge should have been included.
