We loved this place. Yes, the room was small, but it was so comfortable and such a soothing atmosphere that it did not matter. Wonderful bed and bath, great color scheme, nice fabrics. And a million nice touches, starting with Christina greeting us with great cheer and a glass of wine. She was so welcoming and so helpful that her greeting got us in just the right frame of mind. We had a wonderful dinner at Bar Louis with a waitress named Sarah who was fantastic. Really good cocktails, wonderful food and beautiful and intriguing artwork. We couldn't wait to go back again (for the food and cocktails AND the Hilton Bros horse/flower prints --what a treat!) and we were not disappointed. Everyone who we encountered in bar Louis seemed to be enjoying his/her job, as did everyone we encountered throughout the hotel. That was so nice. Breakfast day one we ignored the continental breakfast that came with the room. We had a fabulous meal, but day 2, we went for the free breakfast and it was fantastic--the most delicious home made yogurt and lemon curd and baked goods.. Wow what a treat. When we checked out, we were handed water and snacks for the road. When we asked what to do in Milford, we got a million enthusiastic suggestions. The only disappointment was that spa bedea was 100% booked--we should have planned ahead. Some have mentioned noise and room temp--it was super hot this weekend, and our room was not as cool as we're used to. Christina gave us a fan. Worked like a charm. Yes, the street at night was noisy, and the person above us never walked when s/he could stomp, but the fan served dual purpose of masking nose. Other nice details: great shower, lots of hot water, Kiehl's toiletries (nice touch), espresso maker and bottled water in room, and a magnifying mirror for putting on makeup (always endears a place to me when they acknledge the limitations of over-50 eyes). I've gone on--short version: the only thing that would have made this better would have been a longer stay. What a nice place and a nice bunch of people!
