“Very much enjoyed ourselves, would stay again : )”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We stayed for one night, October 12. We didn't arrive until around 10PM as we had been driving all day. The room was huge! It was like an apartment with a kitchen, living room, large bedroom and bath as well. We both slept very well and enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. They seemed to need more seating for breakfast as it was quite crowded. Other than that, no complaints about anything. It was a very clean and comfortable hotel. It would be great for family (this was just two of us).

I spent 4 nights there in September on a business trip. This was my 4th stay at this hotel over the last couple years. The staff is terrific, the hotel is extremely well taken care of and the breakfast and dinners are a nice touch. I am a hilton honors diamond member who travels throughout the world for business and I can honestly say that this is one of the nicest Homewood Suites I have ever stayed at. The consistency of the quality at this particular hotel is what keeps me coming back. I would have rated it 5 stars but the breakfast selection and quality was not what I have come to expect from a Hilton product. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, well maintained hotel during travel in the Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg area, this is your place.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Trip Advisor! We appreciate the glowing comments about our suites, evening Manager's Reception and our staff. What could we have provided and/or done to EARN higher breakfast comments? I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you in person. I can be reached by calling the hotel directly. Again, thank you for choosing Homewood Suites!

My wife & I stayed here recently while on a road trip. This was our second stay at this hotel. The staff is very good, and the hotel is also very good. We are Hilton Honors members and received a very nice room. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. This hotel is located just south of Harrisburg off US 15.
We arrived during the complimentary dinner hour. The supper was very nice - Salisbury Steaks and tasty mashed potatoes. A nice bonus is the Yuengling beer on tap.
The only down side was the breakfast quality. The offerings were limited and not up to the usual Hilton standards. The breakfast staff gave a very lackluster performance in our opinion. If not for that, this Homewood would have earned 5 stars.

We are delighted that you arrived in time to take part in our Evening Manager's Reception; however, please accept our apology for our less than stellar performance at breakfast. My family and I stayed here 1 night during Labor Day weekend. 7 of us (5 adults & 2 toddlers) stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. The master bedroom had a king size bed and full bathroom with jacuzzi tub and 2nd bedroom had 2 full size beds & the other bathroom. This suite also had a queen size pull out sofa & a fully stocked kitchenette w/ sitting area (table & 4 chairs) & refrigerator. For those who care, it also had 3 flat screen TVs approx 32-37in. Check in was easy, the lobby seemed nice, comfy with TV many tables & chairs (they serve breakfast in morning-more about that later) and a few sofas (if I recall correctly). The hotel is deceivingly big. We walked really far from lobby to our room (can't recall room #) and the hallway smelled weird, kind of musty & smokey. The room smelled fine but was really cold and changing the temp didn't make much of a difference. The whole hotel was freezing actually but I guess that's better than it being hot. As usual the pull out sofa bed was super uncomfortable and I couldn't believe the 2 beds were full size & not queen...my poor parents had to sleep out in the pull out sofa because they had no room on the full size bed! And they're not supermodel skinny but they're not big people either. I slept ok with my 2yr old daughter on 1 of the full size beds. Blankets were warm & pillows were comfy. There is an indoor pool (which we didn't take advantage of) and a gym in the hotel.
We were here for a 1 day Hershey Park trip since we had gotten complimentary tickets. The hotel seems like it's in the middle of nowhere and it was about 15-20miles from the park. The drive wasn't bad though. Not a lot of traffic so we would get there in about 15-20mins.
The hotel offered free breakfast--the usual for Homewood Suites, so it included eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle maker waffles w/ toppings (super delicious) like strawberries & whipped cream, there was bagles, bread/toast, cereals, muffins, homefries (potato wedges), fruits, orange juice, apple juice, milk, tea, coffee & water. Really filling! Oh & complimentary fresh baked cookies at 8:30pm!
A super PLUS for this hotel...checkout is at 12pm! Get to sleep in=Awesome! :)
Overall my stay was great! The price was reasonable and got most bang for my buck! I love staying at Homewood Suites, I've also stayed at the one closer to Hershey, called Homewood Suites Harrisburg East which was equally as good. Though the bed situation isn't ideal, it's not a deal breaker. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for an event in Dillsburg area. Nice cozy clean facility. Very friendly front desk personnel. Homewood Suites always give you a roomy suite and free breakfast. Only concern was kids playing basketball right outside our first floor room in the AM woke us. Also if you are thinking Hershey, allow some time as this is southwest of Harrisburg.

Thank you for choosing our property while attending an event in Dillsburg. We take great pride in our hotel and are delighted when our guests take the time to write a review for Trip Advisor. Please accept our apologies for the noise from our sport court as basketballs are not to be given out prior to 10am. We hope when your travels bring you back to our area, we will be your hotel of choice!

We stayed here for a week in August 2012 and were very happy with our stay. On arrival we were warmly greeted and given a thorough explanation of the facilities.

The suites are a good size and very comfortable. I would recommend getting a room facing out of the hotel. Ours overlooked the looked the pool and basketball court and we found the noise of the ball hitting the hoop in the evenings was really annoying ( although this never carried on too late).

There was ample seating in the breakfast area, including an outdoor seating area which was great. On our first night it was 'cook out night' with freshly barbecued burgers which were amazing.

A great place to stay in a quiet location.

Room Tip: Avoid overlooking the courtyard for a quieter room

Have come to find this place our home away from home while attending the Corvettes at Carlisle event in the end of each August, as this was our second stay here after trying other hotels. The positive to come out of this visit, was a group discount for those attending the show, as we volunteered our email address in 2011 to be placed on the list for the sales department to give us the code needed for the discounted rate (but was dismayed this won't be carried on into 2013, per the front desk). Quick check in, as our suite was selected 36 hours in advance online. Clean property and grounds. The usual 1 bedroom suite with large flat screen tv's in the living room and bedroom (albeit slow channel surfing) and mini kitchenette. Morning expanded continental breakfast was good (surprisingly offering bacon on two of the mornings). Evening dinner offered Monday thru Friday (with the calender on the fridge listing the month's offerings). The room was quiet and nice HVAC controls with a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Chose the king bed (which was the most comfortable we've slept in for a while, better than our home mattress) with comfy chairs and couch in living room, with a pull out sleeper/sofa. Came down to check-in early to make use of the great weather and the use of the outdoor pool. It is small, but the water was super warm and comfortable lounging around it. The location is close to a small highway (rt 15) that made it a short trip to the fairgrounds. The wi-fi worked well in both rooms. Parking is safe and well lit. A little far from the Hershey area (unless you don't mind the drive) but close to many restaurants and shopping along Carlisle Pike nearby.

The cons are short. After watching Hotel Impossible on the Travel channel, I used my self diagnosed OCD to look around the resort and room like Anthony does, and found a couple of things that I pointed out to those who matter. Being in the service industry myself as a technician, I always leave a tip for the housekeeper, but had to leave a note telling her of the empty water bottle found behind the nightstand and the fact that the toilet bowl needed better cleaning under the rim. Also had to request more pool towels on the first day (from the front desk clerk), as there were more dirty towels scattered around the pool and there were no more clean ones on the rack. You'd think someone would occasionally keep tabs on this. No safe in the room is a drawback for a chain hotel. Smaller, mom and pop motels even offer it. Fortunately a safe deposit box was offered up at the front desk, but was only big enough to hold the Ipad, not the large digital camera.

Room Tip: Obviously outside rooms can be noisy due to overlooking the parking lot, inner rooms can be quiet ov...
