“Econo Lodge Meadville, not bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Stayed there 8/9-8/10, we had a non-smoking queen room on the second floor. The room was clean but very small. Three feet on each side of the bed, no dresser, a triangle-shaped bathroom (again, pretty clean), and a 25" large tube-type TV.

The non-smoking room ws exactly that, non-smoking, but the hallway smelled of old smoke. The lobby is non-existant, you walk in and there is a desk and a counter, the lobby beyond that is a back hallway with a TV and an ice machine.

Pros..... free popcorn, free bottled water, continental breakfast, friendly and good service, everything appeared to be clean, and there are resturauts right next door, all this with an affordable price. The shower is unlike any other I have seen, triangle-shaped and enough water pressure to blow your hair back.

Cons .... half of the parking lot is dirt and gravel on one side and someone dinged my car, there is no break in the curb to roll a cart off of the sidewalk to your car except for out front, loading and unloading is difficult, the hallways smelled of stale smoke in the non-smoking area. The bed seemed hard but I'm not a good judge since I sleep on a memory foam at home.

Would I stay there again? If only for 1 or 2 nights, sure I would. Would I stay there for an extended period, no, not enough room, especially for 2 people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of the highway, it will be quieter.

Our overnight shopping trip to Grove City outlets led us to booking our stay at this hotel. I don't know if we got a last minute rate, but for $53US (tax included) for a Sunday night, this was a bargain! The outlet mall is a straight, north-and-south, 30 minute drive along US79, and the hotel can be seen from the highway.

Check in was easy. Staff were readily available and, though seeming a bit tired perhaps from a slow summer evening, provided us with all we needed and readily answered our questions.

We were given a room on the main floor all the way down by the end. The 1 queen bed room is about the size of a small bedroom but the furniture was well-spaced and we had more than enough room; they even manage to fit in a drop down ironing board and microwave (no fridge). More importantly, it was all very nice and clean. The 27-inch CRT television is dated (couldn't really fit a bigger one in the room) and fuzzy, but the Wi-Fi is very fast and easy to connect.

Sleep quality: the mattress was firm and the sheets were fresh. Our room faced west towards the highway so we could hear a rumble or two from some of the larger trucks that went by, but it wasn't so bad. I'm a light sleeper and the only thing that really woke me up unfortunately was the sound of the garbage truck arriving to empty to the bins at the back of the parking lot before dawn. That ruckus lasted for about 3-5 minutes.

There's a good mix of restaurants in the area whether you like fast food or dine in, franchises or independent. I always hate staying at a hotel or motel where there's no decent place to eat within reasonable driving distance, so this is a plus. There are also gas stations and a grocery all within a 1-2 minute drive of the hotel. One thing to note: Many restaurants seemed to close at 9:00 p.m. on Sundays (and the grocery closed at 10), so late night travelers be wary of your time.

Breakfast was basic and served in the lobby, which is clean and bright. There's a seating area around the corner, but it's small enough to make me think the hotel just expects guests will take their food to their rooms, which was fine with me since were on the first floor. There are no eggs or breakfast meats, but they do have everything else for a good start to the day: fruit, cereals, canned juices, bread selection, milk & yogurt, coffee and tea.

Overall, this was a great deal to stay in a brand name hotel which was clean and comfy for such a low price (it would have been worth it even if it was a few dollars more). We'll stay again when we hit the outlet mall in the future!

Room Tip: West rooms face the highway so you might be more exposed to the sounds of a big rigs rumbling past...

Stayed here 2 nights for a shopping spree to the outlet Mall in Grove City. The room is not very big but for 2 people just using it for some place to sleep it's good. It was clean, quiet, inexpensive, and had a fridge and microwave as we pre-requested. The staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. Overall a very pleasant experience. We would stay here again.

I have family in the area and always try to stay at the EconoLodge, although when I checked in on Friday the hotel seemed to be very busy, I was greeted by Alexis and Amanda who were over the top!! They made sure I did not have to wait long and checked us in with a smile, the staff at the EconoLodge is amazing and kudos to the ladies at the desk!!!

Nice solid hotel experience. Quiet, clean rooms. The bathrooms were very clean. Bagels, granola bars, cereal and coffee for breakfast. There was a bit of confusion regarding the rates, but even with that, it was a good value and the staff were friendly.

We just spent 2 nights here again. The motel is a great value for what you get. The rooms aren't super large, but they are always very clean. The bedding is very nice and the beds are comfy. There isn't a refrigerator, microwave or flat screen (there is cable tv), but we didn't really need one anyways. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. My husband is disabled and the staff served him his coffee and muffins at breakfast since I wasn't there yet.
The handicapped room has all the accomodations necessary. . (The accessible bathtub in our room was wonderful. I enjoyed it too!) As far as I know, all of the accessible rooms are on the ground floor. When I am put on an upper floor of a hotel, I worry what we will do if there is a fire and we can't use the elevator. For the price, this motel can not be beat in the Meadville area.
