The Quality Inn Meadville was OK, but nothing spectacular. In fact, in some ways it was pretty bad, but in others it was pretty good. Overall, pretty meh.
Staff was nice at check in, very helpful. They had some cookies out and USA Today which is always a nice touch, and they had coffee out as well.
My room was actually off the front of the building. That's right, some of the rooms on the main floor were off of the parking lot, right on the front of the building. Going inside to the breakfast and the work out room in the morning with the first hard freeze of the year in the air was NOT a plus. The room was a little worrisome with a gap under the door a mouse could've gotten through, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The table/desk was minuscule and crowded with a lamp, coffee, etc., leaving barely enough room for a laptop. Wireless service was OK as well.
The workout room was OK, with a couple of machines and a TV. A nice touch was the towels in the workout room. Breakfast was good - pretty standard fare for morning breakfast with some hot stuff (eggs, bacon) and a waffle machine. I noticed the hard boiled eggs a little later off to the side - darn! The lobby looked like it was being redecorated with a lot of wallpaper missing.
The hotel is not too far from the main strip of hotels in this area (about 1 mile) and there are a few restaurants to go to. Chovy's is a good place to eat nearby.
All in all, a good place for a business travel stay, especially if you can get a good rate. I believe ours was $62.99 a night, which is about what I would expect to pay for this hotel. Overall, an OK value for the money and a clean bed.
