“Just a nice place to stay”

This is just a nice place to stay. Good restraunt, clena rooms, great staff. Price is OK. Staff is very helpfull. Even though it is somewhat near the highway it was very quiet. Comfy bed and a great nights sleep. Would highly recommend and I always stay at this Best Western when in the area.

We chose this hotel because the Inn's in the area were all booked because of the Black Bear Film Festival and the price was reasonable. At check-in we thought how nice the hotel seemed and they gave us a few 'freebies'. All of the people at the front desk were professional and polite. They even called our room as we went in to see how we liked the room. The room was nice/clean. Furnished well. Sofa but no table. Our room had a wonderful view of the mountain and lake/pond. Flat screen TV. A nice sized room. Being a careful traveler, I checked for bed bugs - none - but noticed how worn and tattered the mattress was. The bed sheet would not stay on the king sized bed. Annoying. Also, this hotel DOES NOT provide safes in the room. So I had to lug our valuables with us any time I left the room. This surprised us in this day and age. Also, we couldn't understand why management would put smoking and non-smoking rooms next door to each other much less on the same floor. The common hall smelled like an ash tray and the next morning smelled like it had been over-perfumed. Yuck.

The 'free' full hot breakfast was pitiful. Yes, they had scrambled eggs and potatoes but the bread and danish were stale. The oatmeal was watery with no extras I could see.. The service was slow. No bacon. Things were either very greasy or left out waaay too long. I would have been happier with a continental breakfast - that was fresh.

We went to the lounge/bar for a drink our first night stay (we stayed 2 nights) and there was a rowdy, obnoxious crowd in the party room who decided to spill over into the lounge just before the event had ended. We were told that this type of crowd frequents this hotel often. One time a wedding party got out of control and the police needed to be called. Really?!

Too bad our experience was so-so because this could be a fantastic hotel! A little re-org, better food and keep the riff-raff out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake/pond not the parking lot.

Very Impressed for an inexpensive stay for two people included a free drink and made to order breakfast ver y good service and comfortable accommodations.
Could use a little tlc but just surface things really.
The staff in the bar and restaurant were very good and made us feel welcome

The room and appurtenances were fine, clean, etc. The side door lock seemed broken. The paint smell on entering the main door was considerable as was the diesel smell from two buses parked directly in front. The pool had been closed for 1 1/2 years. The restaurant is large and the service slow with too few servers for the number of buses that brought so many passengers. Our server was actually running from table to table and looked tired and rumpled. The food was adequate but nothing special. The breakfast buffet was self serve in the same dining room and had many choices from cereal, yoghurt, coffee, teas, eggs, ham sausages and was pretty good for steam table fair.

Room Tip: Rooms in front did not seem to have traffic or bus loading noise. Views to the rear were of golf gr...

My fiance and I stayed here just to get away for a weekend. We completely enjoyed our stay and have no complaints. We enjoyed the hotel and grounds so much we are going to check it out as a possible place to hold our wedding even though it is a far distance from home.

Very clean outside and inside! Great staff, great breakfast service. Beautiful mountain view and of historic tower in the evenings. Comfortable mattress and clean rooms. This should be considered a BW Plus!

Stayed just one night while on a quick golf trip in the corner of the Tri-State area. Nice pleasant room, friendly service and good location on I-84/PA6 & 209. Even has a golf driving range right next door. Hot breakfast (included with room rate) was good. Could not use the exercise room because of the order (redoing the indoor pool with either paint or epoxy) in the pool area; this should only be a temporary thing. All-in-all a nice place to stay while in this area of PA/NJ/NY.

Room Tip: Eastside rooms have nice view of pond and a few deer/hawks/geese.
