Very nice walk to take. There are chains to keep you from getting too close to ledges BUT still be careful, people die there. Thus, it is supposedly haunted and people do EVPs.
Also legend has it that a long time ago there used to be a lot of apple trees there. Small monkey-like creatures (Appleswitchers?) would be in the trees and throw apples at the towns people trying that were trying to gather the fruit. Only place is USA these creatures have been seen. In past 10-15 yrs there has been a couple sightings as well. One by a very honest adult person I know. He said the creature disappeared right in front of his eyes. It really flipped him out!
Make sure and wear good walking shoes and sometimes it does get muddy. There are a couple entrances; one is just an overlook. Park is Dog friendly. Also, down the road a little and across the street is a street that leads to an old stone home (there is a sign on the main street where to turn onto this road), at this location there is also a pavillion & walking path that is part of the park. I knew someone who grew up in the home who said it was severely haunted. The walking path is nice with a lot of bamboo there. A little creek runs by it that my dog loved to swim in!
We saw some single men walking around at the main part of park. They were alone walking over lunch by themselves. Not sure if they were exercising or .... just don't go by yourself. Although I never heard of anyone being attacked. (Except by the monkey things)
If you are visiting I'd go to Marietta, Columbia and Wrightsville as well - all located nearby.
