The past three years, a group of friends and I would make a decent drive down to the Laserdome on a Wednesday for their unlimited play day. Every year its been great; we would stay there from open to close getting our money's worth. Well the previous years it was run differently than it is today. back then it was two five minute sessions per session in the arena, I think, without a long wait time. Sometimes you could get right back in line and play back to back to back games of laser-tag. This year (on Wednesdays) they changed it to 40 minute sessions. This is bad for several reasons:
We were there for 5 hours and only got to play two rounds of tag. Any other year we could easily get 10 or 15 rounds in by then.
We called in for a reservation twice before they opened (just as the recommended) but they didnt pick up and we just showed up right as it opened. This wasnt a problem however.
They closed off the sides of the arena and moved the reload station, this made the movement very centralized and not as fluent as before.
Shooting at people basically went out the window when lives are presented to you and it doesnt matter if you run out of lives because you just return to the base and start clean, this really doesnt make sense to have lives then. It seems the goal is to shoot at a stationary base, which is boring, shooting at other players is boring too because you cant stop them from shooting until you deplete all of their lives.
They now call you by party, the one you register with. Normally you would just wait in line and the first, say, 40 people would go in. Nope, not this year. This is how they limit the number of times you get to play. Any other year it would have been worth it.
I came for laser-tag, but all i got was arcade games. If i wanted arcade games i wouldve went to a bar.
I dont really feel like continuing this review, but the place could be managed better.
