“It's been interesting.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Pros: good customer service, friendly staff. Close to Wegmans and Target.
Cons: Bugs galore! Very Dated, Poor housekeeping. and NOISY.

I lived in the Sonesta for a this year. For the most part, it was okay. It needs a lot of updating. My room was moldy and spider infested. I think my suite was vacuumed twice during my stay. The TV's are from the 1990's. It gets extremely noisy on weekends. I realize that this is a hotel, but the lack of courtesy displayed by the soccer parents here for tournaments was ridiculous. It was noisy and the partying started early.

Breakfast was also okay, but the reception on M-W evenings could use improvement. I got sick from the Mexican and Greek buffets.

You want a clean, safe, quiet and homelike environment than this is for you.
As a former flight attendant, i've stayed all over the world. You will not find
a better price for what is offered here. Close to shopping and family food places.
Great food delivery to room if you want to stay in. Gym, swimming pool, internet,
breakfast. Top all this off with an A+ frontdesk staff always happy to help.
Sonesta is the way to go !!!

Steve & Sonya

Room Tip: be specific as to what you need, like no smoking or quiet area. They will try their best.

The front desk had us checked in 2 hrs early with no charge. When we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised. Two large queen bedrooms each with their own bath, a full kitchen, a livingroom(with comfortable queen sleeper sofa) and an eating area. With 3 tv,s there was no fighting over what to watch. The pool was clean and the breakfast was very good. This is going to be our "go to" place on our way to the beach.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 1st floor right by the lobby and it was quiet.

Can not say enough good about this place! Our family of 8 will forevermore search for Sonesta when we need a hotel! It was that good! The price was so reasonable. Other places were obnoxiously over-charged for much smaller spaces. We paid $129/night and got a suite with TWO bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two walk in closets, full kitchen (which was fully stocked with dishes and cookware), living room with sofa bed, SOOO much space! Space is a big deal to a family our size. We were completely comfortable and relaxed. Plus there was a great pool (with plenty of towels for guests right in the pool area) Exceptional breakfast. Plenty of variety. All those little tummies went away full. All information was posted and very easy to find. We didn't have to search for area information or hotel details. Friendly staff. Very comfortable and clean. They even had a fresh, cold pitcher of water waiting for us in the refrigerator. We have already told all of our friends about Sonesta. Since we visit the area often, we are looking forward to our next stay...which will definitely be with Sonesta!!!

We had a great room with plenty of space and it was very clean and nicely decorated. The facility was a well maintained property, the hotel staff was very efficient and polite. The self service breakfast buffet had lots of choices and was continually stocked and cleaned. With Wegmans across the street and the gas grill next to the pool deck we had some great meals and saved a lot of money by not eating out. Would stay there again without hesitation if we have occasion to return to the Valley Forge area.

Room Tip: We faced the pool, very nice and quiet room

Although at first glance this hotel may seem out of the way for wanting to go into Philadelphia, but it is conveniently located near the freeway for easy access into the city. The drive was only about 45 minutes to an hour, but for the value for all 6 of us it was well worth it. Check in and check out was breeze. We had a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms, which was extremely spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job of ensuring fresh towels every day. The only complaint I would have is that the AC seemed not to cool the 2 bed - bedroom as quickly as the rest of the and that the TV's are very outdated, but then again I wasn't there to watch TV, so it didn't matter to us. The beds are very comfy and the pillows are awesome! The breakfast area was very clean and had lots of room, so finding a table was not a problem even though it was extremely busy. The staff member who was in charge of maintaining the breakfast area did an excellent job of keeping the breakfast items (great selection), coffee, and juice in stock. Overall, our experience of this hotel was excellent and a tremendous value for the 6 of us. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

We originally tried to book two nights at the Malvern Homewood Suites as we love the Homewoods chain. However, there were no available rooms. So we ended up booking at the Sonesta (for half the price of Homewood!) and were extremely pleased. We booked two 2-bedroom suites for the weekend. Here are our thoughts:

PROS:
--Nice breakfast buffet with eggs, meats, DIY waffles, cereals, fruits, bagels, etc. The breakfast room is large and comfortable.
--The price is fantastic.
--The air conditioning works extremely well.
--Everything was clean. No signs of mold, no weird water issues, no suspicious stains, etc.
--The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, cups, plates, etc.
--Checking in and out was super fast and easy.

CONS:
--We had to wait each morning for the hot food selection (meats, eggs, potatoes) to be replaced each morning. The food would run out quickly and turnover could be faster.
--The place is dated and needs updating. Everything is perfectly functional, however.

BOTTOM LINE:
Should we ever stay in Malvern again, we'll probably pick here over the Homewood suites. We'd be willing to overlook updated rooms and such because the price was so good.
