“great place to learn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

this is where I spent the early years of skiing etc. they have a great lodge and hotel type rooms. The mountain is small and can get croweded but they do employ some excellent trainers for younger folks to learn from.

“Good slopes for beginners and intermediate snow lovers!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

I love this venue. The slopes are good, the food is fine, better food in the Grille. The staff are generally friendly. They try to make your visit there a positive and successful visit.

“Great mountain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Love that it is so close by but really feels like you are "away" - great mountain for the whole family and nice bar to relax in after a day on the slopes!

“Where's the Garlic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Went for the Cheese, Garlic and Summer Mountain Festival. There was an $8 entry fee per person. The event consisted of vendors highlighting their offerings under individual tents. So the day was spent mostly standing in line to sample cheese or wine. Vendors were from a fifty mile area of the event. The cheese samples were miniscule. The wine just barely covered the bottom of the very small cups. In some cases there was not enough to wet your palate to decide if you liked it or not. It didn't matter as they were all overpriced and the quality was mediocre at best. These were small local winerys most of which just came into being in the last few years.

But where was the Garlic! There were two stands selling raw Garlic and that was it. No food stands with different offerings. When I looked into the event it was billed as a day of garlic tasting. Don't know if the vendors did not show up or what, but there was no Garlic to be tasted.

There was a band playing, a small Garlic cook off but no tasting and rides for the children. Guesstimate the crowd to be over 1000 and the vendors to be under 20. Lines were long if you wanted to sample anything. Will not attend this event in the future.

“Great Family Ski Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Bear Creek is a great family ski area. The level of skiing/boarding offered ranges from beginner to expert. The amount of expert runs are limited. The resort facilities are some of the best. Recently rebuilt from the ground up and they don't get much better. Cost are a little on the high side for both tickets and food.
