“Lovely Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

When I first walked into the hotel I thought the property was showing its age (colonial), but the guest rooms must have been renovated in the not-to-distant past because our room was very well-appointed and comfortable. Our room also afforded a terrific view of the Delaware River. The complimentary breakfasts served by the hotel were very also good. My only quibble with the place was the bug menagerie out on the balcony. There were all sorts of spiders and their webs and wasps/hornets and their hives. A little too close to nature for me.

Room Tip: Be sure to book a river-front room.

I stayed at the Black Bass Inn with 2 girlfriends for a small reunion. Two of us stayed in the Fieldstone Suite which was 2 floors, so we each had our own room to sleep in, and a bath and a half made things easy. The rooms were great, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. We ate there both nights. The desserts were amazing, and their eggs and lox at breakfast was wonderful. The view of the Delaware was an added bonus. One of the waitresses, Zoe, was exceptionally helpful and a great waitress in addition. The entire staff was great! I look forward to another stay there soon!

Room Tip: The rooms with a balcony over the Deleware River are especially nice.

As locals we have eaten here many times and stayed recently in the Lorraine suite. The food and view is incredible and the room stay was as good as the food. The location next to the pedestrian bridge over the Delaware is great. As an added bonus are stay came with Breakfast which was one of the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!

What a great brunch!! 4 courses of excellent food, champagne, coffee and tea, all for $35.00. Beautiful setting overlooking the Delaware River. Delightful inn atmosphere. Great service. Loved our server.

We've gone The Black Bass many
times for brunch and dinner over the years but today's brunch was the best yet! My had the bagel & lox to start, huevos rancheros and
berry crisp. I had the liver and salmon pate, shrimp & grits and an outstanding banana/coconut bread pudding. Add glasses of champagne and coffee plus outstanding service and you can't
beat it! If you are in the area DO NOT miss this lovely hotel overlooking the Delaware. You will not be sorry!

We recently spent a weekend at the Black Bass Hotel. From check in to check out and everything in between it was perfect! We had two rooms as our son and daughter in law joined us. We had the Major Fry and Tinsman rooms. Both had balconies overlooking the Delaware River. Both rooms were of ample size with nice large bathrooms. The rooms were very clean with nice comfortable queen beds. The hotel has two great bar/pub areas and one was nicer than the other. The bar on the lower level is so quaint. It looks like George himself may have just been there. Now for the Restaurant ..... OMG ..... all of our meals were delicious. We eat out quite frequently and to be most honest there were the best meals we have had in some time. Breakfast is included with the room price and is not to be missed. Every staff member we met was most friendly and professional at the same time.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the river.

What an awesome time! My wife and I needed to get away for a bit. So we came here for the 2 year anniversary of our engagement! What an incredible time! We stayed in the Baxter suite which is pet friendly. So of course we brought our dog. From the minute we registered we knew we were going to have fun. The Baxter Suite has its own fenced in area. We could play in that area with our dog without a leash. The room itself was comfortable and inviting. We had a nice sunroom. The room also had a very spacious bathroom. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast the next day. The breakfast was included with our stay we highly recommend you stay here. You will not regret it.
