“At home in Pennsylvania”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2011

I stayed at Springhill B&B during a cross country road trip. The Hoover's welcomed me into their home and answered questions I had about the area. I stayed in the Carriage house (not connected to main house) and enjoyed having a kitchen area and open living room to relax in. The bedroom was really comfortable and since the B&B is in a country like setting it was very quiet at night. The next morning I walked to the main house and had a wonderful breakfast with many refills of coffee.

A great place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We love to stay in the carriage house. The place is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. The owners make you feel part of their family.

My friend's daughter attends a nearby college, St. Francis, so the two of us along with another friend decided we would get together for a girl's weekend and get a visit in with her daughter.

The daughter recommended this place and we were not disappointed! There is the main house where the owner's live and where there is a large suite; then there is the Carriage House where we stayed. It was a lovely two bedroom, two bathroom place with a roomy eat-in kitchen and great living room. The place is immaculately kept, I and one of my friends stayed in one room and the third girl in the other. Our bed was so comfy, and the room and two full-sized closets, plus a dresser!

The kitchen in the Carriage House was stocked with an assortment of beverages and snacks. We hardly had room for any of it because they put out such a wonderful breakfast spread at the main house. We were there for a Thursday - Sunday stay, and had such great breakfast's we skipped lunch every day!

The location is great, it is on a beautiful hill offering a great view of the area. We saw deer in the morning as we walked over for breakfast and the owners put out bird feed so there was a variety of birds all over the property.

The last thing I can think to mention is how great the owners are; it is a husband and wife who own and run the place. You can really tell enjoy what they do and want you to have a nice stay. The husband is from the area and is great with directions (we got lost on one of our outings) and the wife has a great eye for detail and knows where all the great local shops are.

We had so much fun that we are planning on making this a yearly outing!

Recently in Loretto visiting family, my spouse, myself, and another family member stayed at the carriage house at Spring Hill Bed & Breakfast. It was great. Convenient, clean, and homey, with excellent service and a wonderful breakfast!

The carriage house has two bedrooms, both with desks, chairs and HUGE closets, and a shared bath. There's also a living room with TV and a kitchen. There were snacks in the kitchen waiting for us, and the frige stocked with beverages. The beds and the rooms were so comfortable! They also had a suite available in the main house that had it's own bathroom, but since we were traveling together, we didn't mind sharing. Really, the carriage house was ideal for a family traveling together. We had the entire carriage house to ourselves, and walked over to the main house for breakfast.

The breakfast was fantastic! We had a fluffy pancake type dish served with strawberries, and scrambled eggs, though there was also an option of cereal, toast, and a variety of pastries. Excellent coffee as well.

The bed & breakfast is in a very quiet area, and there are walking paths throughout the property. At breakfast, the couple who own the b&b told us about the wildlife they often see, and provided excellent breakfast conversation. While the weather didn't allow us to go walking and check it out ourselves, I look forward to going back the next time we're in the area.
