Lititz is full of Amish charm, history, vitality, and amazing chocolate. I am not referring to Wilbur Chocolate, the renowned major chocolatier in town. A couple of blocks away from Wilbur, in a cozy bright shop on Main Street is Cafe Chocolate. A vivacious, captivating, and thoroughly entertaining proprietress, Seline, will tell you all about the chocolates, teas, confections and delicious foods she makes and serves. The menu is organic, vegetarian and vegan, many gluten free items also, and locally sourced whenever possible. From omelets to portobello burgers, soups to salads, and a delightful dessert menu full of different chocolate concoctions, the Cafe is a discovery I will remember and revisit. Not to be missed is the fresh greens salad with a chocolate vinaigrette. Far from overwhelming you, delightful flavors of chocolate pop up like a joyful surprise within the light, delicious dressing. It is like nothing I have ever tasted before.
Relax, read and sip or take home supplies of your own; enjoy a full breakfast or a just a muffin; a hearty lunch or just coffee and a couple of freshly made truffles: you will discover a serene slice of heaven!
