“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

This was a great experience for me as I have traveled a lot though generally staying in big chain Hotels. This was much more personal.
Werner was the most gracious host anyone could ask for. The building captured all the atmosphere of a Swiss mountain retreat, and it really felt as if we had been transported to the Alps. We arrived at night and the entry was nicely lighted and very welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was great.
We were busy in Lititz during the day with a family wedding, and it felt like coming home to a place where we could really relax and unwind. The amenities were great with jacuzzi tub and computer room, a kitchenette with cold drinks in the fridge, and cookies, cakes and fruit laid out for us anytime we wanted a snack (almost better than being at home).
This was a great time of peace, quiet and hospitality.
I'm looking forward to another reason to visit Lititz, and I'll be staying at the Swiss Woods for sure.

We just returned from a visit to the Amish country and a stay at the Swiss woods Inn. We would highly recommend it. Debbie and Warner are wonderful innkeepers, They are very helpful and run a beautiful property. Warner is a beekeeper and the Swiss Woods inn even makes their own honey. Breakfast was great.

The exterior of this Inn is superior, Meadows, tranquility and absolutely beautiful gardens. Breakfast was very good, the table setting very pretty, and the cook was attentive to my dietary needs. I was disappointed in the room, which was small, though very clean. The bathroom was minimalist at best. They provided soaps via a dispenser on the shower wall, which seemed almost institutional-like to me. I got over it fast though, when I stepped out onto my little patio to view the beautiful scenery.

We enjoyed your stay and are so very glad that you appreciated our spectacular gardens. They are amazing at this time of year.
For your concern about the bath amenities, we do know that this is a change for some and are glad to explain why we moved to dispensers. After years of throwing away half empty bottles, we felt it was the responsible thing to move to something more eco friendly. Only after we were able to find the same high quality shower and hair care products that we were proud of supplying in the tiny bottles, did we make the switch. We use far more of all the products since this change as they are easier to use than the little bottles. We do understand how the change may feel institutional even with the beautiful dispensers.
Special diets provide no problem for us and we are glad we were able to meet your needs. We hope to welcome you back to the Woods on a future visit.

Deb & Werner went out of their way to welcome us, provide us with any travel help we needed, finding specific information for our trip and printing off drive tours (for covered bridges, antiques, and fabric as well as some farm specific locations we were looking for. Everything in the Lancaster County area is within a short 30 minute drive , but this B&B feels like it is in it's own private world of trees and gardens and gives you that "Swiss Woods" feel. The food is to die for - worth the trip alone!

My wife and I have visited 3 times within the last year. The first time was for our honeymoon. We've stayed in all three of the upstairs rooms, and our favorite is the Appenzell. Most recently, we stayed in the The Matterhorn Suite. It was quite a large suite with its a separate living area, though it was a bit too large for just the two of us. The landscaping around the house is superb, providing a nice, quiet refuge in rural Lancaster County. Breakfast has always been delicious and the cookie jars are usually well stocked (a big plus!). We've also taken advantage of the large selection of books, games, and videos. We'll definitely be back to try the other rooms.

Room Tip: Matterhorn is quietest but no view

We have stayed in a variety of rooms, and we appreciate the "home away from home" atmosphere each has to offer. Debbie and Werner have accomplished the perfect blend of modern amenities and the charm of a country home in the woods that is so appealing. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and serene. We thoroughly enjoy the bountiful breakfasts and the yummy snacks - they are quite concerned about each guest's dietary limitations and are happy to accomodate special concerns. To have access to the kitchen any time of day is a very nice touch. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and everyone knows so much about the area that it makes it easy to explore without any trouble. We are loyal fans of Swiss Woods!

Room Tip: Private entrances are a very nice touch!
