Ever since moving to the area 5 years ago, we buy season passes to Idlewild and Soakzone. Whenever someone comes to visit, we take them there. The park has just enough of what everyone needs/wants to have a great time. The prices are reasonable. The park is usually clean. The many trees keep you shaded and cool. It has areas that cater to all different age groups. Picnic pavilions are perfect for packing your own lunches or holding a gathering. The Soakzone has water slides, a wave pool, lazy river, bathrooms and showers, toddler-safe water areas- all ages will have fun there. Raccoon Lagoon is good for very small children and includes Daniel Tiger's Trolley, train and hand carts. The main park area also has games and rides that smaller children can enjoy. Hootn Hollar features old time fun, games, food and attractions. Jumpn Jungle has a climbing net, plastic balls, jumbo slide and more. Storybook Forest is very nice for the kids to take a leisurely walk through the woods and visit their storybook friends including Mother Goose, Snow White and others. Their fireworks and special events like Italian Day are always excellent. I highly recommend the park if you are within 100 miles. It is well worth the drive. There is plenty of parking although a bit confusing at times.
The only draw back is the bathrooms, but I think that's pretty much the case with all public restrooms in amusement parks. These just seem a bit dingy- a little too "rustic."
