“Would have stayed FOREVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

We found the Inn at Leola Village to be one of the greatest hotels we have ever visited. Yes, we love the Greenbrier, the Inn at Little Washington and the Bedford Springs Hotel, but the Inn at Leola Village offered something these others missed, REAL HOSPITALITY.

From check in with Mark Anthony, to the moment we departed, everyone offered us warmth and friendly service. Our couples massage was blissful and dinner at the Inn's Italian restaurant was awesome and better that the 4 Diamond rating the boast.

Our room was clean, quiet and filled with cool stuff and more. We got a fantastic night sleep and really enjoyed the giant slate shower and rain water shower head. Excellent!!

Anyway, it's clear that the owners of the Inn at Leola Village take comfort and hospitality of its guest very seriously. The place is impeccable, beautiful and had more than we expected.

We will return, for sure!

I stayed here twice in the last 3 or 4 weeks: 1) for a girls' getaway weekend (with their package, which was a no brainer and I would totally do again); and 2) for an overnight after a family member passed away. Restaurant service was exceedingly slow both times, but the first trip was otherwise a delight. While Italian is the focus of the restaurants, I'm not sure why they don't take a note from Gordon Ramsey and focus on simple, locally grown Lancaster foods, rather than overly elaborate preparations. Alas. On the second visit, I was quoted the wrong room rate ($30 less than the actual rate), and considering I spent about as much at the spa as on the room, I was disappointed that the hotel would not honor the rate and with the lukewarm response (which alone would have discouraged a future stay but for the nice rooms, and relaxing pool and spa. The rooms both times were clean and well appointed (considering I usually take my own sheets and towels). Not an experienced spa goer, but I was very pleased both times with the services there - especially Sue for massage and Tiffany for facial. In fact, the spa was the big incentive to return (and remains so). The pool, while not large, is adult- (not child-) focused. When paired with a visit to the spa, this is a 5-star getaway, reduced to 4 because of the disappointing hotel customer service.

We chose this location because it had come highly recommended by some friends. It looked great on the website as well. We called on the phone for reservations and booked a room in the barn. We called later to see what time we could check in and when they returned the call is was at 10:40 at night which I thought was strange. Upon checking in we discovered that they gave us the wrong room and had upgraded us to a dinner package at the extra cost of over $100! We received no apology and the front desk staff was not overly friendly. They did take off the dinner package, but again with no apology. The place is absolutely gorgeous, but much of the decor in the room had price tags hanging from it. Not sure if it was an accident, or they were for sale, but either way we thought it was tacky. The grounds were immaculate, but the pool was dirty. The aquabot was in the water but not turned on. Breakfast consisted of canned fruit, dry bagels and a few other items. The walls were paper thin, so much that we could hear the cell phone ringing in the room next door. Because of this we got little sleep, as you could hear everything going on around you. It was okay, but certainly not what you would expect from such a beautiful place. We would not return, which is really sad becuase it looks so great from the outside!!!!

The Inn at Leola Village appreciates when its guests comment about their recent experience. Our goal at the Inn at Leola Village is to exceed our guests overall expectation regarding their visit. If a guest is not happy with a particular aspect of their stay we will correct the problem immediately, including if necessary, relocating the guest to another guest room. With 63 uniquely appointed rooms and suites, I am confident we would have been able to find the perfect alternate accommodation, if the concern would have been brought to our attention. Our complimentary upscale European continental breakfast offers an array of delectable offerings for all of our guests including our always popular Pennsylvania Dutch breakfast Strada and Amish style sweets and danish. Plus artisan breads and rolls backed fresh daily from our award winning Restaurant and Kitchen. We offer our guests the opportunity to purchase any one of our treasured pieces of art work and collectibles at any time during their stay at Leola Village throughout our property. Its our way of letting our patrons take a piece of our home to theirs.

On a whim we decided to go away for a short birthday celebration overnight in Lancaster County. I had stayed once before in 2009 at The Inn at Leola Village on a girls get-a-way and remembered the property fondly. They have a spa, billiard room, exercise room, and are minutes from everything including Central Market in downtown Lancaster. I contacted the Inn and found they had the exact room available (Tabacco Room in the Amos Barn) that I prefered so we booked it! From the very begining of the reservation to the fabulous rustic room with king size bed & jacuzzi it was perfect! What was most impressive was when we returned to the room from diiner that night there were rose petals everywhere. I thought this was a nice touch. Although we did not eat at the 2 restaurants available on the premise, I have eaten dinner at Restaurant Mazzi before and it was delious. The Inn at Leola Village is a hidden gem and we will definately go back!

If you want to actually get some sleep, this is not the place for you. Very noisy all night long! The miss the little things, lime tea in the room, a bottle of water would be great as well. The complimentary "breakfast" isn't worth walking to. Go out and enjoy a good dinner breakfast, or even McDonald's has a better breakfast. The fitness facility is yuck! Dirty, dark, etc...

I am from Lancaster county and visit often. I try a different hotel each time. This has been my least favorite, and I really had great expectations. I would not stay here again. The service is none existent, and almost feels that there is no manager. Poorly run. I asked for water and juice at "breakfast".... There was none! Huh?What? No juice or water! I think the girl may not have spoken English.

We had our wedding at Casa di Fiori. As part of the wedding package we received the one night stay. We upgraded to a suite and it was a great decision.

Seriously we wanted to move in! The room had a small fridge, living room area with the tv and a large king bed. There were 2 sinks, a huge jacuzzi tub, huge shower and then steps up to the toilet.

This is definitely a fancy hotel for the area. No it's not the Ritz Carlton, but it's a nice, fancy, charming small hotel.

As a local it's easy to be offended by some of these reviews. You're in Lancaster County not New York City- remember that. There are great local restaurants nearby. No there's probably nothing in walking distance. However, it's easy enough to get in your car and drive to a cute mom and pop restaurant. Just because it's not a gourmet chef restaurant doesn't mean it's bad.

The hotel does have a small pool, but still a nice pool. The walking path will take you behind the hotel, through the gardens and down toward the banquet facility area- Casa di Fiori.

The next morning we did go to the breakfast area for a FREE breakfast! They had an egg quiche, french toast, pastries, oatmeal, breads and toast, and coffee and juice.

Lancaster County is a quaint area where people go to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's an area to visit and slow down and enjoy life.

If you have any questions about the area I'd be happy to answer them.

This is a converted farm turned into the most amazing bed abd breakfast. but it is so much more than that. there is the award-winning Mazzi restaurant , a banquet facility for weddings, gardens, a walking trail, shops, fitness center and billiards room, and the Destination spa. We stayed in a suite which had a kitchenette and faeturesd a living room, seprate bath w/ 2 person whirlpool tub, and bedroom w/ 2 queen size beds. We ate in Mazzi which is fantastc (see my review of that restaurant), had hot stonne massages in the spa, and walked the area. We were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The spa was well-appointed and the techs (which really make a spa) were very well-trained (and we ave visited high end spas such as Canyon Ranch). Service was quick and efficient. any little problems, such as the malfunctioning of our room safe were quickly and politley handled. This inn is located in Leola, in the heart of Amish country. It's a great venue for weddings or a romantic get-away. If you cannot relax here, you just can;t realx. The American Music heatre, outlet shopping, and fine dining are all within 5 miles. We will be back. One caveat, if you are expecting a modern building with sound-proofing, you are in the wrong place. This facility is all about charm and , of course, the floors squeak. Bring a sound machine or just a soothing Cd you like. There's a CD player in the bedroom (and it had a sleep- inducng disc already in it!)

Room Tip: Let them know what you need - quiet - or a view .
