Some backstory: We have been heading to Lancaster for the Thanksgiving holiday for the past 10 years. While there we have stayed at many hotels - The Steamboat, the Willow Valley Inn, and Lancaster Suites to name a few. The last 4 years we have been heading to the Budget, mostly because of their indoor water park which our two young boys enjoy. When it first opened it was clean, the Indoor Water Park was in full use, and they provided a breakfast room. Now, the rooms are dirty, the Water Park is in need of repairs and the "complimentary breakfast" are some pre-packaged muffins and stale coffee. The people at the front desk laughed at the "free breakfast" when we checked in. The water park has caution tape around many of the "attractions" and the one slide has been closed for at least 3 years. Not to mention the dirty rooms, with what appears to be unwashed linens. Having stayed there many years, the negative reviews are spot on - there is masking tape covering old signs, the doors do not self close like other hotels, so you better make sure you pull it shut. The televisions are not hi-def, and there are no shampoos, or conditioners in the room. And in fact nothing had changed from the previous year.

I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your recent stay with us. I'm just a bit confused, as a guest that has been coming here for years, how you could not notice the many improvements that have occured here over the past year alone. This year, we have gotten new furniture, new pictures, new bedspreads with new skirts, new lampshades and new linen, just to name a few of the improvements we have done. Right now, we are in the process of painting the hallways, putting new carpet in the hallways and replacing carpet in the guestrooms. Items such as shampoo, extra soaps and extra towels are always available at our front desk upon request. I wish I could have had the chance to address your concerns during your stay and took action to make your stay more enjoyable, rather than hearing about them after the fact. I apologize that we feel short of your expectations, but I invite you to return and give us another chance, so you can have a better experience, as described by other reviewers.
