“not bad for price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2008

ok place for the price. needs updating. carpet dirty in room and in main hallway. dark/dreary. had room on highway side, wish we had known beforehand to choose a farmland side. breakfast area way too small. however, the front desk staff was friendly, checkin/out quick, and good location to many attractions.

I really dont think this motel deserves some of the negative comments you see in some of these reviews. Yes this property is a basic busy highway hotel, but I must say it was clean and
comfortable. The location is excellent, convenient to all tourist
attractions, restaurants and great shopping. Lancaster PA area
is known for its peacefull farmlands and pastures. These areas
are only a turn away from this motel. The rooms here are spacious and very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean, with
a great shower and soft flufffy towels. The staff at the front desk
could not have been nicer. If your looking to save some money, yet want a clean accommodation near everything, try the
econolodge north in Lancaster PA

Good value, but the place reeks of curry and other spices that I found offensive. The towels and washcloths were pretty rough and dingy as well. I first stayed here in the mid 1980s and it was OK then, but it felt like it had grealty deteriorated. Probably has new management/owners. The bed seemed fine to me as did the TV and whatnot- I just find it to be a bit cheap overall. I would recommend another place if you are staying in Lancaster.

We booked a non-smoking room with 2 double beds. The first room smelled terrible. We asked for a second room. The air conditioning and TV did not work. We asked for a THIRD room. We stayed in the third room, but the wallpaper was peeling off of the walls, there were bugs and worms on the carpeting, there were unknown stains on the floor in the bathroom, the hair dryer literally burned up in my hand when I turned it on! The pool was ice cold and dirty. The indoor "heated" pool was the same. There were bats flying around the outdoor pool. There was trash on the grounds and the ice machine did not work. I will NEVER stay at an Econo Lodge again - based on the utter filth of this one hotel!

Went to the outlet mall with friends of ours. Checked into the econo lodge north. It looks as if they redid the rooms. There was great heat the rooms all have two queens size beds. There is a 19 inch t.v. in the room. The bathrooms are clean and modern. There is only two floors and there is NO elevator. Staff at the location very friendly and helpful. All rooms are interior enterance. The breakfast in the morning is coffee, tea and juice. They have dounuts and bread to make toast. There is a perkins rest. next door. If you go to Lancaster and need a clean in expensive place to stay thi sis the place.

My friend and I stayed at the Econo Lodge North in November 06. We had booked a non-smoking room. At registration, we found out we had a smoking room on the second floor (with no elevator). The front desk clerk changed our room to a first floor, no smoking room. Our room was very pleasant and clean with ample space. We asked for more towels & washcloths and were accomodated immediately.

Our purpose in going was to do a little shopping and rest and relax. The front desk was helpful with directions to local attractions. We greatly enjoyed the Christmas Show at the American Music Theatre. A highlight of our trip was The Green Dragon flea market in Ephrata. (open on Fridays).

We would stay again at the Econo Lodge North.

My son made the reservations for the 4 of us. First, they could not find our reservations, they said he booked with the other Econo Lodge on the other side of US30. Finally they found them. We get there and check in wanted to take shower but could not regulate the water , either too hot or too cold no happy medium. Bed was hard as a rock , the pillows were lumpy, the sheets were stinky and the blankets did not even fit the bed. They need to do a makeover on this hotel. And yet they were full each night we were there. I can't see why? My son said he would not stay there again and neither would I !!!!!!!!
