“Not what we expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Saw some great reviews online and thought we would give it a shot. It was not what we expected. Two of the lamps were broke. The beds were terrible! The mattresses were flat as pancakes and there was a dip on one side of the bed. Woke up with an awfully sore hip and back. Definitely would not stay again.

My wife and I decided to take a short overnight trip to Lancaster PA. We love to shop and enjoy the Amish attractions. The hotel was okay for a low end rate stay. Room was very plain, no clock radio, no wi-fi, fairly small TV. It served the purpose for sleeping but really had no conveniences. We had stayed out late the night before so we did not get up in time to see what the continental breakfast was like. If you are just going through the area looking for a place to sleep, this is okay. No frills, overnight stay is what this was.

My husband and I went there for a night and we were very sorry. The hotel is on a busy road with trucks going up and down all night. They cant help that and I can sleep threw that, but they can help the 100 year old mattresses! The mattresses were so thin and old, when you sat on it it dipped so much you almost fell off!My husband ans I didnt sleep all night and felt awful in the morning. The room was also dirty and old! Do yourself a favor and skip this one!!!

dear guest, thank you for the feedback. about the noise yes i agree route 30 which is the main road in lancaster is busy with traffic but thats why guest like our hotel because they feel safe here then other hotel in the middle of nowhere. the mattress issue is a personnel like,. some guest enjoy the matresses and some do not. the room not being clean we will look into and find out why. again thank you for taking the time to write to us. we will correct the issues best we can. we hope you will give us another chance. we are right now in the process of renovating the whole hotel and adding a new breakfast room which you will love. come back and see it. thanks. krish b.

We came from Hersey, Pa to spend one night at this hotel because of the price and location. It is the worse place to stay at. there were bed bugs all over and we left at 1 in the morning. Took a nap in the afternoon and was bitten all over. Did not realize this until after I got home. When I pulled the sheets down, there were little bugs all over. When we told the front desk, we were refunded back our money right away but we could not get another room and slept in our car until morning. what a night. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVEN IF IT IS FREE!!!!! The next morning we went to the flea market and then home. Soon after that I woke up the next morning with bites all over me.

I stayed one night at this hotel and found it to be satisfactory. The room was clean; the price was right; the location was convenient - right on the Lancaster "strip" close to outlet shopping and restaurants. My only complaint was that our bathroom floor was sticky, as if there was residue left over from a cleaning product. We called to ask that it be mopped again. While the front desk employee attempted to be helpful saying that she would be by to clean it since the maintenance crew had left for the day, there was not follow through. She never arrived at our door, nor did we receive an explanation as to why. We couldn't complain too much considering how reasonable the room rate was.

I was looking for a inexpensive place for one night while on a business meeting. I usually like the Econo Lodge but this one had me concerned. First the outside had faded old fake flowers - not appealing, I know that doesn't affect how I sleep... but usually if a place doesn't keep up the outside it always makes me wonder about the inside. Along the dresser in the room they had apparently drilled a hole in the wall for something and left all the plaster (quite a lot) all over the floor. The air conditioning/heater unit was thick with dust. The entire room needed dusted. The mattresses were all wrapped in plastic and really needed replaced, The towels hung neatly, but the wash clothes were just tossed on top. The hotel is close Route 30 and without the air condition on the traffic was noisy all night. They did have donuts, bagels and coffee in the morning. Receptionist was not very friendly. I can't say you get what you pay for because I have stayed at many Econo Lodges that have been very nice. This one needs so help.

Room Tip: Stay in the back not close to Route 30 noise.

This was the second stay at this hotel for my wife and me, mostly because the rates are so cheap, but we would not recommend staying here more than a night. The place has a weird smell and doesn’t look very clean. Even though there is plenty of space in the front desk area they put the mini continental breakfast area underneath the stairs which becomes crowded in the morning with people coming and going with luggage. When we arrived our room was not ready so after asking how long it would take, the employee stated 10 minutes so apparently at this hotel it only takes 10 minutes to a clean a room. The beds were ok, probably fairly old and the room was what you would expect for a cheaper hotel. Shower head had uneven water coming out which made it a little difficult to shower. We noticed the white powder along the bottom edge of the walls as other people have commented on. For one night we would stay here again because of the price, but any longer we would recommend a better hotel chain that offered a little more and was cleaner.
