Do not stay here. I wish I had checked Travelocity before I went to this place. I am suprised there were no bed bugs. We were given a room at the front of the hotel. Thank God. Originally my husband thought it was at the back of the hotel so we drove back there. We were staying one night and I made sure to unload everything from the car because it was so scary back there I couldn't be sure anything was safe. There were some major repairs going on to some rooms on the first floor - well I'll say it looked like they were replacing the carpets at the very least in the back of the hotel because the old rugs were thrown on the ground and there were some things under a tarp. I could see that work was being done in one of the first floor rooms. It could only be upgrades because they couldn't go down.
We got to our room and I will say it looked surface clean. The furniture is all chipped and worn. The TV's are small and the channel selection poor and not all of the channels worked. Those were the best things it had going for it.
There was no iron, ironing board nor coffee pot. The bathroom was...well.. let me put it this way. I would not let anyone in my family get a shower. The paint was coming off the tub and where the paint wasn't coming off the tub was decorated with the most lovely color of mold. Something leaked in the bathroom but I can't say if it was the sink or the toilet. There was a huge hole in the bathroom wall that they tried to cover up with a plaque but they were unsuccessful.
In the room most of the walls had some kind of dents in them. There was another huge hole in the wall to the side of the bed that was covered up with a board which was then wallpapered to make it look like it was part of the wall, again they were unsuccessful. There were scorch marks on the wall next to that. Not sure if it was from a fire or that lovely triple murder that had been there.
The ceiling was stained from water damage from where the roof leaked. The clientel was well more then a little scary. I can't say anything about the pool as I did not even go to look at it. I was so skeeved by the room. The breakfast was continental. I know it had pastries and bagels and toast but I didn't let my family get near it. I just wanted out. The woman who checked out in front of us was lucky enough to have used hypodermic needles in her room as a bonus.
I did not inspect the beds carefully or look under them so I have no idea what suprises awaited us. It was scary.
Oh I should mention though that the two police cars sitting outside the hotel for the entire night did not bode well but I sure am glad they were there.
