“Spectacular B&B! A Lancaster 'must do'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2009

If you would like to spend the night in a beautifully and meticulously restored 18th century stone mansion located on a scenic country road nestled in pristine farmland - then this is the place for you. We stayed in room 7 located on the 3rd floor which boasts a large 2-person jacuzzi tub, large bedroom with comfy bed and lots of privacy.

The common rooms, service and breakfast are equally as impressive - overall we had a wonderful experience and you will love the owners too - great people.

We knew once we walked through the door that we were in for a treat. We walked right into the room where breakfast is served, which was decorated beautifully. To the left was the lounge, all done up in hardwood and Tiffany lamps. The whole house was decorated with Tiffany lamps and antiques. There are many intricate counted cross-stitch pictures all throughout the Inn, stitched by Lorin. Just to look at each of these will amaze you. There was music piped in throughout the common areas of the house. Our breakfasts, both mornings, were delicious and more than enough. Dutch style pancakes and almond crusted french toast fingers started out our days just right. The maple syrup and walnuts were from the trees on the property! Toni & Lorin were such accomodating Inn Keepers. By the time we left, we felt as if we had stayed with friends. A definite treat for me personally, was to see newborn lambs. They were born the second night we stayed, and got to see them before we left. We have stayed in many B&B's, and the Silver Stone Inn is one of the best, if not our favorite~we will return.

My husband and I stayed in the Cooper Beach Suite, the best room in the B&B. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room. Lorin showed us how to work/use everything in the room, which is great when you are trying to figure out the TV !!!!
We really felt at home and enjoyed every aspect of this room. It is so comfortable and inviting. It is nice to have the TV/DVD combo when you jsut want to relax and watch a movie. The balcony gives you a wonderful view of Lancaster County.
Breakast was wonderful to say the least. Lorin and Toni joined us and the other guest. They helped the couples that were not fimiliar with Lancaster on wonderful places to go(and not to go too).
When we felt Sunday morning we were invited to come back and stay at 10% off..WONDERFUL touch. We sadly have not been able to come back due to the fact it is always booked when we have free time.....GREAT FOR THEM!!!
Congratulations...good luck and keep up the great work!!!

Silverstone was my first stay at a Bed & Breakfast. I needed to get away from stress at work and I decided last minute to take a drive with my boyfriend to Lancaster. Luckily, we found a vacancy at Silverstone.

The house itself is gorgeous. Driving up it took my breath away. You can tell that the owners put their hearts into resoring this property, inside and out.

We stayed in the Magnolia suite and it was perfect. We felt so comfortable in there. It was very well furnished (they have great taste), we had a jacuzzi tub and all the amenities we needed.

It's true that you could hear others in the house, usually just those above us, walking around or in the halls. But, this is an old house...floors are going to creak. It really wasn't disruptive to us.

Breakfast was served in the dining area downstairs between 8:30 and 9:30. The food was very good and served with a smile. It was the perfect start to the day.

What was truly amazing was the feeling that we had much of the house to ourselves. The house was booked with couples but we never saw much of anyone except at breakfast. We didn't feel crowded at all and felt comfortable helping ourselves to whatever was available to us in the house and on the property (they have sheep to visit as well).

I highly recommend this place. Toni and Lorin were wonderful hosts.

Thank you Toni and Lorin for making our stay such a wonderful one. Like we said, we will definately be back to see you, I'm hoping very soon.

This is a great B&B. We stayed in the Walnut room. Again, the bathroom is small, FYI. The proprietors are kind and generous. The breakfast excellent no matter what your diet. No sound from outside can be heard. The walls to the rooms are thin... we could hear everything from the room next door! The decor is stunning as is the building itself. There's a common room with piano, card table, and comfy chairs. There's a common small refrigerator, hot water maker, and wine glasses/tea mugs. There is no computer for internet access. The stay is worth every penny!

When we first got to the Silverstone inn we were impressed with everything! The place was immaculate, the owners were amazingly sweet and the room was comfortable. We stayed in the Ginko room which was exactly what we were hoping for... a relaxing atmosphere with a jacuzzi! The homemade breakfast in the morning should not be missed! I would recommend this Inn to any couple looking to have a nice romantic weekend away.

  • Liked — The privacy the rooms had to offer.
  • Disliked — Couldn't smoke inside... not a big deal though

We stayed in the Magnolia Suite at Silverstone for our 20th anniversary. Wow, what a great place! Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated with tiffany lighting, antiques and artwork. A great place for a honeymoon or anniversary stay. Very nice hosts and good breakfast at your own separate tables. Highly recommended!
