I booked through a third party website and could not mention my preferred requirement of not going to the annex. Surely enough, I was assigned an annex room, clean and well appointed, but you are basically in an ordinary low ceiling room over the garage, ironically with great views of the historical building you wished (and booked for) you were staying at. Asked both nights to change room, but front desk, uninterested in taking any trouble, dismissed me quickly with the "we're fully booked" corollary, which the second night was not true.
It is a nice hotel with a good restaurant and close to downtown Lancaster, but honestly the room assignment made me feel penalised for finding a good rate online.

I chose the Lancaster Arts Hotel over any of the chain hotels in the area and am very glad I did!
It is very conveniently located near F& M campus and the central Lancaster business and arts district. The decor is unique and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The rates are slightly higher than some of the chain hotels, but the decor, staff and amenities are worth the difference. Especially unique was the cab service provided on a complimentary basis by the hotel to any restaurant or attraction within a 5 mile radius. It made my stay much more enjoyable and relaxing. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family and look forward to my next visit.

Room tip: Try to choose a room in the older section. This hotel is very small with only 63 rooms. The building is a converted tobacco warehouse and there is some street noise.

My recent stay at LAH was probably my fifth, and each one had exceeded my already lofty expectations. Not only are the rooms very comfortable and clean, the bar and restaurant areas are also first-class.

What a treat to land at this smart, contemporary hotel after a day in the country. Incredibly comfortable and chic rooms, with real -- not plywood! -- furniture. Restaurant off the lobby was also a breath of fresh air: creative, unusual, delicious. Excellent wines and great beer selection.

This is the fourth time we have stayed here. Beautiful hotel!! This will be our choice of hotel whenever we visit Lancaster, Pa.

Have stayed in regular room and suites, all the rooms have been very comfortable. Our favorites are the suite, it gives you a little more room and the whirl pool tub. Make sure you use the taxi, the hotel will pay for rides to and from up to 5 miles. Love this when traveling to the Lancaster Brew Co, get to try all the beers and don't have to drive home.

They have a very nice bar in the lobby so you can unwind at the end of the evening. After a good night sleep make sure you take advantage of the free breakfast.
