Description: If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue lately, you haven't visited El Serrano. Or, perhaps it is more appropriate to say, you haven't visited Peru. Every square inch of the Latin-American restaurant has been extensively redesigned, upgraded and refurbished authentically, with architectural details similar to those of 150 years ago--to the point that stepping through its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Peruvian hacienda. As owner Manuel Torres says, "it's like going on vacation."

“Tapas Like You've NEVER Had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

El Serrano has three restaurants in the same incredible building. The tapas restaurant was first class - the selections of hot and cold tapas was outstanding, and my friend and I ate like a royal couple for $100 including a great bottle of Spanish wine. My friend and I wanted to return before I had to leave Lancaster, but unfortunately, El Serrano had changed to their Fall/Winter hours. They're not downtown in the "thick of it", but a quick 10 minute drive will get you unbelievable food and service for a very reasonable price.

“beautiful place to eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

I went there to eat twice and it is a very cute place you feel like you're in Spain and you are a king or queen if you go on the summer they have an open bar beautifull with lots of lights and i think a fountain The food is good not to much to choose but Its good you gets chips and salsa for free and if you want a refill is only 2 bucks the waitress was amazing the only bad thing aout the place are the hostess both time I went there they are rude and don't even tell you welcome or anything they should advice the clients that there's two other restaurants on the same place if you want to try something different ask for culturas o clementinas i found out because I went to the web page to check out the menu it is not mexican food it is peruvian it looks like mexican f you don't know but it's not I tried the" pollo fundido" it is really good and other time I tried "el serrano combo" that plate is so big ... they should send some of the waitress to host and it will be perfect !! prices are good to not to cheap and not to expensive

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Great authentic Mexican food and awesome atmosphere! It seemed like the restaurant stays very busy so service was lacking at times.

“I'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

The food was amazing! I ordered the ranchero combo and it was so good. I also tasted the spicy jalapeno sauce from the *spicy* section and that was really good, no way I would I would be able to eat a whole meal of that but it was amazing. The service wasn't top notch but they were busy and honestly the food and drinks made up for what our waiter was lacking.

“A great choice for Latin American cuisine in Lancaster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

El Serrano is a Peruvian restaurant that also dabbles in other Latin American cuisines and serves the US Mexican restaurant standard free chips and salsa when you sit down. They have an extensive menu and I had a burrito that was quite good (on the bottom of the back page of the menu). The food wasn't blow you away great, but it was very tasty. In addition, the restaurant is located what looks like an old hacienda, leading to a really nice atmosphere. Finally, they know how to make a mean margarita. What started out as one pitcher soon became more and my friend and I had a great time.
