First timers. Dressed up, arrived and got drink at the downstairs bar. Asked about the bubbles promotion, bartender just served up 2 glasses of champagne. Didn't ask which one we wanted.
People around us dressed very casually, tshirts and jeans. Bartender himself had ripped jeans. Not what I expected.
Went upstairs to check out the other bar, much more to our liking. More modern, more sophisticated clientele. Bartender very nice, talked about bubbles promo and she said she wasn't too familiar with the promo. She asked someone else (Supervisor) for clarification, then came back and told us $1 off any champagne we choose. When we got the bill... nothing was taken off our drinks. Kind of irritating.
Outside dining on nice but small, quaint deck. Pork belly app good. Told waiter 1 Caesar and wife would just have a couple bites of mine. He brought two! Short ribs good (but rich), wife's meal was good too. Dessert just ok. Asked waiter about the Caesars, he says yes, sorry, I brought out two. I'll just take one off the check. Cool. Waiter kind of neglected us for a while, and we wanted to leave, so I flagged him and just gave him my CC to run our tab. When I get the CC receipt and itemized bill.... you guessed it, charged for 2 Caesar salads. Didn't feel like confronting as they already ran the card.
Overall a nice experience that was tainted by staff not applying promo correctly and staff not doing what they said they'd do. I mean, if you're going to run a promo, how about educating the staff? I'll gladly pay for a memorable experience, but this one was excessive for what we received in return.
