We checked reviews on several restaurants in the area, looking for someplace special for our 20th anniversary dinner. The Belvedere came up consistently good or exceptional. We ate downstairs in the dining room, nice atmosphere; attentive but not hovering waiter, John C., very pleasant to talk to; food was AWESOME!
We began our food journey with drinks, DH ordered a Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale - first time trying that flavor, thought it very good. I ordered the Raspberry Lemonade Martini - I highly recommend it - a little pricey, but there is a lot of different ingredients including limoncello.
Both DH and I shared the Thai lettuce wrap appetizer - plenty for two and quite flavorful - tried wrapping them in the Bibb lettuce leaves, but it was just easier (read, less messy!) to eat with knife and fork as a salad. John also suggested the lobster bisque, I was only going to order appetizer and entreé, but DH was ordering a cup and talked me into it - loved it! Glad he did. Smooth, complex layers had me wanting more - but the cup is is more than adequate - besides, I was waiting for the main event!
For my entreé, I chose the salmon with succotash and mashed potatoes - John's suggestion for salmon "doneness" was just right, everything very tasty. DH chose the shrimp scampi, large shrimp in a delicate lemon garlic sauce - in which he sopped up with the remainder of my mashed potatoes that I couldn't finish - portions for a fine restaurant like this were above the normal.
We were too full for dessert, but did order an after dinner drink, which came with a surprise complimentary key lime crème brûlée for our anniversary (candle included)! Did I say that John was fantastic?!
We will return!
