We had a wonderful dining experience. The inn was decorated for Christmas...white lights everywhere. I had the salmon and it was delicious. Wait staff were attentive...would definitely revisit!

“Warm atmosphere, great food, excellent staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2011

Made reservation through their website and received a prompt email response confirming it. We were greeted cordially as we walked in by the host who led us to our table. The Victorian-style room was handsomely decorated for the holidays and felt inviting. Tables are not too close together. We ordered a bottle of wine and the baked crab dip starter. The of crab dip was very tasty and the portion size was healthy compared to many establishments. My girlfriend ordered the bison special. Note, the specials were recited without any price being given which is usually a red flag that they will be significantly more expensive than the entrees on the menu. This was the case here as it clocked in at $36.00. However, it was delicious. The chef prepared it and the accompanying risotto perfectly. I had the organic salmon with brussel sprouts and couscous. It was also very good. The service was efficient and non-intrusive, enabling us to relax and enjoy our meal. After we left, we were about a block away when the restaurant host came chasing us down the street with my girlfriend's scarf (she'd left it on the chair). That was a very thoughtful thing to do and we really appreciate it. Notes: There is a lively bar in the restaurant also; on-street parking is fairly plentiful; they take major cards.

“Our New Favorite Restaurant in Central Pennsylvania”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

The Belvedere is what we all wish for: A consistently reliable, comfortable, stylish and friendly place with really, really delicious food -- all at a great price. There are two bars: A long traditional wooden classic where Lancaster professionals pop in after work for a quick drink or dinner, and a big open room on the second floor with high tables and stools that seems to attract a younger crowd, especially for the live entertainment. The main dining room is a grand Victorian affair with great dark voids and twinkling lights. But the Belvedere is all about outstanding food and drinks, offering a creative selection, from comfort food like short ribs to Asian fusion with Thai lettuce wraps. You can walk in, order a drink and a half-order of steamed mussels and leave feeling fully satisfied -- all for about $20 with tip. Or you can order a three-course meal with dessert and savor the experience.

“Good food and always nicely and lavishly decorated.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2011

I go here often for lunch and sometimes dinner.
It is a lovely setting in an old inn right next to antiques row in Lancaster. In the summer, you can sit on the small balcony. Other times sit inside and look at the beautiful seasonal decorations. Always the best part.
The menu is not large but the food is good. A lot of us love the grilled caeser salads. Soups are good as is the macaroni and cheese.

“Interesting Place, Definetly Worth a Second Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011 via mobile

We Te here on a Saturday night and overall, I was impressed. Everything is a little funky, from the decor, to the servers hairstyles, to the menu, but all in a good way. It's a nice break from the usual. The menu was definitely striving for a fresh way to serve the normal menu finds. Nothing was fall off the chair fantastic, but certainly not lacking in flavor. I had the sea scallops, and the scallops themselves were cooked to perfection and flavored wonderfully. The white bean and fall vegetable ragout it came with was good, but needed just a little bit more. My husband has the evening special of prime ribeye and south African lobster tail, and he said it was one of the better cuts of meat he had had in a while. Overall, the restaurant is just a few small adjustments away from being phenomenal, and I will definitely keep going to get a break from the ordinary.
