“Who Knew ? California Wine in Lancaster”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We love to taste wine and I saw this on the Pennsylvania website as a place to stop. I assumed it was wine from PA but it wasnt. Nicely arranged tasting room with lots of space and the wine was delicious. We bought two bottles and the Cabernet was so worth it. We will be back in December.

“Wine anyone?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We visited here and purchased a couple of bottles of wine. Thorn Hill is relatively new to Lancaster. The wine we purchased was very good. The prices are higher then at other places but again the wine is good.

“....with one exception”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

Amy Thorn is a delight and as a vintner she produces exceptionally crafted wines. Much to our chagrin, Jack is overly take with himself and can be quite intolerable especially as he has a tendency to over indulge in the "fruit of the vine".

“Stop By and Wine a Little”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

We visited this charming store when waiting for our Lancaster hot air balloon ride, since it was the only thing open on that day. We were able to sample a few wines, one of which we really liked. The store is set up nicely, easy in and out, and has an assortment of wines, snacks and all the necessary accoutrements for a picnic or a party at home. This is a nice diversion on a Sunday afternoon, and close to the Bird In Hand Restaurant, which is an authentic Amish dining experience.

“You won't be able to stay away!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2012

Once you try the wine, you'll keep going back! After work, before work, every time you pass by! Their wine if the best in the area. I have been to all of the local wineries, and Thorn Hill can not be beat. I recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon (both are great!). They are smooth and full of flavor. I'm not a Chardonnay drinker, but it was crisp and light with notes of green apple. You can buy the bottle or glass, for the tasting room or to-go. Though they are still getting the food situation worked out (they will be offering small plate menu options soon), the wine at Thorn Hill is worth checking out. The tasting room is, well tasteful. It is simple and comfortable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are happy to tell you all about their product. If you stop in on a week night, it is quiet and intimate, perfect for talking with friends. During and event or weekend, it can be loud and more crowded, but fun! They have live music on many Friday nights, which pairs perfectly with their wine. The wine club membership is worth the money! Check out the perks on their website.
